The company started in 2007 and now has more than 5 million hosts, who have hosted more than 2 billion guest arrivals in nearly every country.
The Collaboration Products team runs the internal systems staff use to plan, build and ship work, including the Atlassian suite, AI tool integrations and custom engineering platforms.
The team is modernizing its stack, reducing technical debt and adding AI capabilities that raise the output and quality of the teams it supports.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role in which AI is a working tool rather than a future project.
Responsibilities
Own the configuration, migration and ongoing improvement of the Atlassian platforms, and lead the move away from Jira Data Center to Jira Cloud.
Serve as the primary subject matter expert and hands-on administrator for Jira Software, Jira Service Management and related Atlassian tools, setting configuration standards and governance and reducing technical debt.
Design and build scalable Jira setups, including workflows, issue type hierarchies, permission, notification and screen schemes, and field configurations that follow Atlassian best practices.
Lead and carry out Jira migrations, including Data Center to Cloud, working with cross-functional partners so cutovers go smoothly.
Configure Jira Service Management projects with SLAs, custom queues, JSM Forms, approval flows and security schemes for internal service teams.
Build analytics, dashboards and reports with Jira Cloud native tools first. The company avoids Atlassian Marketplace products for information security, privacy and legal reasons, and maintains custom Forge applications with supporting systems engineering teams.
Administer Atlassian access management, user lifecycle, license tier optimization and security hardening.
Assess whether Marketplace plugins could be adopted where business needs call for them, provided security, legal and privacy requirements are met.
Partner with business stakeholders by running requirements sessions, turning needs into technical designs and identifying automation and process gains.
Configure and expand Atlassian Rovo AI agents and automation rules, evaluate new AI and ML features in the Atlassian ecosystem, and promote responsible adoption that fits the company's mission.
Write and maintain Jira Automation rules using the native engine and JavaScript, and use the Jira REST API for integrations, data imports and custom reporting.
Lead user acceptance testing for platform changes and migrations, including test plans, test scripts and defect tracking.
Run Agile ceremonies as needed, and act as Scrum Master or Product Owner for platform workstreams.
Write system configuration documents, runbooks and knowledge base articles so the organization can operate and self-serve.
Take part in the on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical Atlassian issues.
Find where AI and automation can shorten delivery, reduce toil and improve reliability, then build those changes quickly. Architect scalable solutions and judge when to move fast and when to slow down.
