Senior Systems Engineer Infrastructure

The role sits in the infrastructure team and works closely with architects, technicians and project managers on customer systems.

Responsibilities

• Work inside complex infrastructure environments to solve difficult technical problems and keep systems reliable at every level.
• Design integrations that run smoothly, and use your knowledge of networks, endpoints and mainframes to take projects from concept to delivery.
• Balance hands-on delivery with long-term planning, from testing fixes and automating processes to connecting platforms across the IT stack.
• Diagnose issues across servers, networks, cloud environments and systems to find root causes, then recommend fixes that fit feasibility, timelines and customer priorities.
• Test, refine and automate processes to improve reliability, efficiency and repeatability, and assess risks early to prevent outages.
• Plan end-to-end infrastructure across platforms, integrate hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, and automate workflows to cut delivery time and errors.
• Document architectures and procedures so hand-offs, knowledge sharing and operations continue smoothly.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, drive projects from start to finish with a focus on quality, and explain technical solutions clearly to customers and stakeholders.
• Grow your skills across cloud platforms, enterprise IT and emerging technologies, earning certifications and applying them on live projects.
• Work toward an Architect or Distinguished Engineer career path.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in a specific technology domain such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data and analytics.
• Experience with enterprise IT applications.
• Hands-on experience in at least one of: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in the public cloud AWS domain.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows.
• Fluent English and German.
• Preferred: familiarity with a broad range of IT concepts, practices and procedures.
• Preferred: knowledge of design techniques and tools used to produce precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
• Preferred: ability to reason through alternative solutions and weigh their strengths and weaknesses.
• Preferred: strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Preferred: experience with Windows Server, AD, DNS, GPO, PKI, RDS, VMware Cloud Foundation, Veeam, MSSQL, IIS, CheckMK, Graylog, PowerShell and Python.

Conditions

Full-time role supporting customers in Austria.

A valid work permit is required.

The minimum yearly salary is €74,200. The exact figure is set in a personal interview based on your experience, qualifications and education.
