Description

You will join the Software Development & Integration Lab Team as a senior engineer on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation work for vehicle systems and subsystems.

The team supports the company's move toward new vehicle technology and works across electrification, active safety, chassis and body controls.

The role is hybrid and based at the Estes Engineering Center at the company's Global Technical Center.

Responsibilities

  • Connect the simulation framework to bench wiring, loads and instrumentation, and to ECU hardware, software and calibrations.
  • Watch test results, report problems and help get them resolved quickly across electrification, active safety, chassis and body control domains.
  • Build new bench capabilities, refine simulation models, and improve efficiency and processes through automation.
  • Design, build and test new HIL bench solutions, simulation setups and instrumentation for new vehicle features.
  • Create test configurations and real-time HIL models in Matlab/Simulink with the bench users.
  • Integrate chassis, active safety, electrification and propulsion controllers and plant models with the HIL bench.
  • Build or adapt vehicle dynamics models such as CarSim, VeDyna or ASM-VD and combine them with other plant models for bench use.
  • Develop instrumentation and simulation for ECU sensors and actuators.
  • Write HIL test automation and scripts to make testing faster.
  • Teach lab users how to use the HIL bench and give them ongoing support.
  • Set the technical requirements for the bench and test properties.
  • Handle electrical design integration and verification.

Conditions

The role is hybrid, with onsite work at least three times per week or at a higher frequency if the business requires it.

Lab work often means being onsite five days per week.

Occasional travel to Milford is required.

The company is committed to equal employment opportunity.

Applicants may be asked to complete a role-related assessment and/or a pre-employment screening before they start.
