Description

The company has been building computer graphics, PC gaming and accelerated computing technology for over 25 years. The video software team is hiring a system software engineer who is driven and enjoys deep work on low-level software.

You will help shape the video system software stack, working on projects such as ultra-low latency cloud gaming, video broadcasting, videoconferencing and low power video playback.

The role involves working with the company's graphics processing units (GPUs) and video hardware accelerators, learning how to get the most out of them to build top-tier solutions.

Team members work across the company and with partners and customers. You will own features from requirements and design through to production.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Windows device driver (WDDM) at the core of all video acceleration. It runs the capture and encode pipeline behind GeForce NOW and handles all video playback from browsers and applications.
  • Help protect premium video content through a new digital rights management (DRM) scheme built into the driver.
  • Work with other internal teams, partners and customers.
  • Take features through their full lifecycle, from requirements and design to production.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience. A master's degree or higher is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of solid software development experience. Engineers with less experience who are outstanding will also be considered.
  • Strong C/C++ skills, including software development, optimization and debugging. This is mandatory.
  • Dependable, quick to act and proactive, with strong analytical skills and the creativity to debug complex problems that are hard to reproduce.
  • Windows or Linux driver development experience is very helpful. Knowledge of operating system internals and driver models such as WDDM is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft MFT, DirectShow, DirectX or DXVA, video processing, and modern compression standards such as H.264, HEVC, VP9 and AV1 will help you stand out.

Conditions

Base salary depends on location, experience and other objective job-related factors. The expected base salary is 184,000 USD to 287,500 USD for Level 4, and 224,000 USD to 356,500 USD for Level 5.

Applications are accepted at least until November 3, 2026.
