Description

The company has spent over 25 years in computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing, and now applies AI to its GPUs, which run the reasoning in computers, robots, and self-driving vehicles.

This senior individual contributor role sets the technical direction for autonomous, AI-driven enterprise operations, moving IT from manual, reactive work to agentic platforms that run at global scale.

You will own the hardest technical problems, define standards that other engineering groups adopt, and make architecture choices whose effects last for years. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Define how the company builds and runs autonomous enterprise systems, measured by systems adopted, engineers grown, and problems eliminated.
  • Own the strategy and reference architecture for agentic AI across enterprise IT, covering agent runtimes, tool interfaces, memory and context, orchestration, evaluation harnesses, and safety guardrails, and make it the base that partner teams build on.
  • Design and personally build production agents on LLMs, using tool calling, RAG, and orchestration frameworks to support employee support, endpoint services, and IT operations.
  • Build agents that carry out multi-step enterprise workflows end to end, including approvals, vendor handoffs, cross-system data reconciliation, and exceptions, with human oversight. Own reliability, observability, failure behavior, and blast-radius limits so autonomy stays safe at scale.
  • Own the architecture of the integration and automation platform across ServiceNow, ERP and procurement systems, and endpoint management tools, including infrastructure, data pipelines, APIs, and user-facing apps. Decide what to build, buy, or retire for the next several years.
  • Set engineering standards for building, testing, evaluating, and operating agentic systems, including prompt and tool versioning, offline and online evals, regression suites, cost and latency budgets, data governance, security patterns, and failure-mode analysis.
  • Align teams across organizational lines, including partner engineering, platform owners, security, and senior leadership. Resolve contested architecture decisions and build consensus without formal authority.
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and coaching, and raise the bar through your own shipped work and the standards you enforce.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of hands-on experience building and running production systems at scale, with deep expertise in at least one of: infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, platform, or production engineering.
  • A record of architectural decisions at senior staff scope that shaped systems across several organizations, and a reputation as the person others turn to for the hardest problems.
  • Deep experience designing and shipping integrations, automation platforms, APIs, and data pipelines for complex enterprise operations, owning them from design through long-term operation.
  • Proven experience taking agentic AI or LLM systems to production, covering multi-step autonomous execution, tool calling, RAG, human-in-the-loop safeguards, exception handling, evaluation, and governance, with measurable business results.
  • A track record of modernizing enterprise IT operations platforms such as asset management, endpoint services, IT supply chain, or infrastructure operations, including migrating or replacing entrenched legacy systems.
  • Production-grade skill with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, PagerDuty, or similar.
  • Fluency in Python, Go, or an equivalent language, with the ability to design, write, and review production code, not only scripts.
  • A proven ability to grow senior engineers and set practices that last beyond your own involvement.
  • The ability to lead technical direction across engineering, product, and senior leadership without formal authority, and to explain complex trade-offs to VP and C-level audiences in business terms.
