Description

This senior staff role owns the design of data pipelines that handle billions of ad events every day across the company's global operations.

You will set technical standards for distributed data engineering, move legacy workflows to modular cloud-native systems, and make sure critical data arrives reliably, securely and cost-effectively for monetization and decisioning.

The company is a global media and entertainment business with three segments: Studios, Direct-to-Consumer and TV Media.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run ingestion, ETL and activation pipelines that handle real-time and batch workloads on datasets of multiple billions of events.
  • Tune data workflows for latency, reliability and scale in cloud-native environments.
  • Move legacy ad-tech systems onto open lakehouse architectures built on Iceberg, Delta or Hudi, to support unified analytics and monetization.
  • Build in observability, data lineage and automation to reduce technical debt and make systems more resilient.
  • Work with Data Science to put ML models for forecasting, optimization and personalization into production.
  • Keep delivery into ad servers, identity systems and activation platforms low-latency and compliant with privacy rules.
  • Serve as the go-to expert on distributed systems, streaming and big data engineering.
  • Coach junior engineers, share good practice and raise engineering standards across global teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
  • PhD (preferred): deep expertise in distributed systems or statistical optimization.
  • 12+ years designing and running enterprise-scale data platforms with high-throughput pipelines.
  • Hands-on work with AWS, GCP or Azure, open table formats (Iceberg, Delta, Hudi) and distributed compute such as Spark, Flink or Presto.
  • Deep knowledge of Kafka, Kinesis or Pub/Sub for low-latency ingestion and activation.
  • Skilled in CI/CD, automation, observability and governance frameworks for enterprise data engineering.
  • Familiarity with ad-tech workflows: forecasting, yield optimization, identity and campaign execution.
  • Proven ability to work with data scientists, product and platform engineers, and to mentor junior engineers.

Conditions

Hybrid role.

Hiring salary range: $144,060.00 to $267,540.00 per year.

Actual pay depends on factors such as location, external market data, internal equity, skills, experience, training, education and performance.

Equal opportunity applies, and candidates with disabilities can request accommodations during recruitment.

Benefits

  • Annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives and program-specific awards may be offered on top of base pay.
  • Health insurance, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance and a retirement savings plan.
  • Paid holidays, sick time and vacation.
