Description

The Services New Product Development team sits within the company Foundry and builds B2B and B2B2C digital products. The team uses the company data and data modeling to develop, validate and de-risk user-centred solutions for complex business problems.

The team is growing quickly and is hiring an experienced product designer to create product experiences for new data products.

You would work with data scientists, engineers, product managers and subject matter experts. Together you would iterate quickly on concepts, prototypes and MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) for B2B and B2B2C data products, testing desirability, usability and feasibility. Each cycle runs a fast design, test and redesign loop, with continuous user feedback, within business and technical limits. Products reach users through web and mobile apps and voice interfaces, including dashboards with widgets, chatbots, content management systems and more.

Responsibilities

  • Build proofs of concept and minimum viable data products using human-centred design and rapid prototyping, including Lean UX and Design Thinking.
  • Help define the next generation of data-driven products and shape the future direction and growth of the company.
  • Reduce risk in net-new data product concepts by running user research or supporting technical experiments that test desirability, usability and feasibility.
  • Design product solutions that make complex data meaningful and easy to digest.
  • Take part in Design Thinking workshops with industry verticals, regional leads and end users to create strong digital data products.
  • Develop future-state concept designs and run experiments that raise the quality of product design.
  • Work with Brand and Marketing partners to create enjoyable, highly usable transactional experiences.
  • Partner with technology teams on presentation-layer practices such as adaptive and responsive web design, and on current and emerging technologies.
  • Explore what is possible.
  • Balance business goals with user engagement, working closely with product managers.
  • Work with regional and country teams so designs meet the needs of a global user base.

Requirements

  • Show a passion for what data-driven experiences can do.
  • Have a proven track record in a world-class customer experience team.
  • Manage several priorities at once in a fast-paced setting.
  • Champion the user with empathy.
  • Apply usability best practices with confidence.
  • Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Design for Interactive Media, or equivalent experience.
  • Bring a strong portfolio across several form factors, including desktop, tablet, mobile, wearable and others.
  • Keep learning, and actively look for and assess new concepts and technologies that widen design options.
  • Have experience building user personas and user journeys that guide product design decisions.
  • Have experience with rapid prototyping, including Lean UX and Design Thinking.
  • Have created compelling, usable and visually engaging mockups and prototypes.
  • Have designed experiences across multiple media.
  • Have used prototyping and wireframing tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Understand complex information architectures for digital applications.
  • Nice-to-have: visual design, UX research, data visualisation.
