Senior Solutions Architect, AI Infrastructure

The company builds accelerated computing platforms for AI and HPC, used in advanced AI research and some of the world's fastest supercomputers.

The role sits in the retail solutions architect team and centres on GPU, NVLink and infrastructure design for some of the largest next-generation GPU clusters, including AI supercomputers and enterprise AI infrastructure.

You will link the company's GPU and NVLink hardware designs and its software with the engineering and field teams, helping customers with demanding requirements.

The work covers end-to-end cluster design, performance modelling, validation and new product (NPI) cluster deployments.

Responsibilities

• Help customers design GPU clusters covering compute, networking and storage, from large AI training clusters to modular inference clusters.
• Work with OEMs so that first deployments of new products succeed, including new network architectures and topologies.
• Give product and engineering teams feedback on reference architectures, deployment and performance.
• Work hands-on with enterprise customers to debug cluster design and configuration problems.
• Support NPI customer deployments of new GPU and networking architectures.

Requirements

• A BS, MS or PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in cluster design, validation and issue resolution, specifically on GPU and HPC clusters.
• Proven experience designing large-scale distributed systems, AI clusters or HPC infrastructure.
• Ability to explain technical details to technical leaders and customer executives.
• Ability to coordinate communication across customers, product, support and engineering teams.
• Ways to stand out: experience leading large-scale AI Factory or HPC cluster bring-ups or builds.
• Ways to stand out: hands-on experience with the company products such as GPUs, NVLink and the company Networking, including debugging deployment issues on NVLink.
• Ways to stand out: knowledge of NCCL, MPI, IMEX, NMX and collectives in distributed training as they relate to cluster design.
• Ways to stand out: external, customer-facing skills and background.
• Ways to stand out: effective time management, balancing several tasks and customers, and creative problem solving.

Conditions

Base salary depends on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar roles: $184,000 to $287,500 USD for Level 4, and $224,000 to $356,500 USD for Level 5.
