Description

The networking unit of the company builds firmware and software for its NIC, DPU and switch products, and it is looking for an experienced engineer skilled in C and C++.

You will design and build new features for core networking products, working with a team that values creativity, a sense of responsibility, hard work and the ability to work independently.

The work begins at the pre-silicon stage and continues through every stage of the product life.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build new features for NIC, DPU and switch firmware.
  • Help implement new standards and protocols for data center management, including pre-silicon features tested in simulator and emulator environments.
  • Write verification tests for advanced features in a complex, sophisticated firmware test environment, covering both emulation and simulation.
  • Work with chip, board, silicon, software and program management teams to debug firmware and validation issues.
  • Take features from pre-silicon through the full product life.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on C/C++ firmware and software development, ideally with embedded systems and binary network protocols.
  • Strong C/C++ skills and solid object-oriented programming.
  • Advanced English.
  • Quick to learn new things and to research and analyse problems.
  • Works well across teams, communicates clearly, and is a team player who works in SCRUM.
  • Able to review and improve code, processes and architecture of existing systems, and to deliver high-quality code.
  • Working knowledge of build systems, version control (Git, Gerrit, GitLab), GitLab CI, Linux administration, and shell scripting in Bash and Python.
  • Standout extras: deep networking knowledge, including familiarity with the company's networking solutions, management protocols and network troubleshooting, and the ability to design solutions for complex network environments.
  • Standout extras: an R&D mindset for changing technologies, working with architects to find and define edge cases so solutions stay future-proof and scalable.
  • Standout extras: skill in test automation and test case design, covering edge cases and critical scenarios, and experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks for functionality, performance and reliability.
  • Standout extras: experience with the Ada programming language.
  • Standout extras: familiarity with RTL and the ability to read chip design documentation.
