Description

The company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer based at 811 Excellence Drive, Bentonville, AR 72716.

You will join collaborative engineering teams that build software, APIs, user interfaces and ML model components, and you will act as an owner for the features you are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned features or models from build through testing, iteration and ongoing support, keeping your work tied to platform, system and domain goals.
  • Write clean, efficient and reliable code in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart and C++.
  • Run the full development lifecycle, covering CI/CD deployments, automated testing, observability, monitoring and upkeep.
  • Write scripts that automate repetitive work, and build telemetry features on your own.
  • Review code structure and help manage defects and debugging.
  • Connect AI agents and ML components to internal and external APIs to make software smarter.
  • Use GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot to speed up development.
  • Apply object-oriented principles and documentation-driven coding so code stays modular, maintainable and consistent.
  • Help turn high-level designs into detailed designs, including mock screens, pseudocode and functional logic.
  • Weigh trade-offs and design scalable, secure, maintainable systems that meet the company's standards.
  • Take part in design reviews and make sure suitable design patterns and principles are used.
  • Mentor peers and share knowledge while continuing to learn.
  • Work with stakeholders to pin down complex business and user problems, then turn pain points into concrete technical requirements and success metrics.
  • Work with cross-functional teams so solutions meet user needs and technical expectations.
  • Carry out complex maintenance and monitor application performance with suitable metrics and tools.
  • Keep projects on schedule through program reports, CI/CD tooling and program logs, and support reliable delivery through monitoring, testing and continuous integration.
  • Improve the team's engineering practices, protect system uptime and performance, and own the quality of what you ship.
  • Take responsibility for deliverables, resolve issues on your own initiative and drive projects to completion.
  • Make sound technical decisions that account for trade-offs and their long-term effect on architecture and business goals.
  • Adapt quickly to change, pick up new technologies and understand the wider system, including how your choices affect downstream work.
  • Share knowledge openly and explain complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Look for ways to improve processes, tools and products, and try new approaches to keep improving.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering or a closely related field, plus at least 1 year of software engineering experience; or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in one of those fields, plus at least 3 years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience coding in object-oriented languages such as Java and JavaScript.
  • Experience designing application architecture, features and technical solutions for cross-platform applications.
  • Experience building frameworks, features and REST APIs with Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, or JavaScript libraries such as React or Angular.
  • Experience writing Jest unit tests for JavaScript and running performance tests on applications, features and APIs.
  • Experience with cloud-native platforms and microservices architecture, including container orchestration.
  • Experience managing MySQL and MongoDB databases, including designing schemas, views and tables and running CRUD operations with SQL.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and managing source code in Git.
  • Experience creating Splunk dashboards and triaging logs, alerts and reports for network monitoring and application performance.
  • Experience configuring SonarQube for automated code analysis and quality and security reporting in builds.
  • Experience using Swagger to document REST APIs and recording architecture diagrams in Confluence.
  • Experience creating production change requests, incidents and management records in ServiceNow.
  • Experience using Docker and Kubernetes to containerize, orchestrate, deploy and scale application components.
  • Experience securing applications with single sign-on, JWT and OAuth.
  • The company will accept any amount of experience with these required skills.
