This is a senior software engineering role based at 811 Excellence Dr, Bentonville, AR 72716. You will lead engineering work across medium to large projects and act as a technical guide for the people around you.
The role sits between engineering, product, project management, business and user experience teams, so you will spend much of your time turning business needs into technical plans.
Responsibilities
Lead assigned engineering projects by supplying relevant documents, direction and examples, and set short- and long-term solutions and timelines.
Review proposed solutions, give feedback, and run design and code reviews of changes.
Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects, producing high-level designs with product, project, business and UX teams and securing cross-functional sign-off.
Turn project requirements into technical solutions, gathering design documents, product requirements and wireframes, then writing, developing and unit testing code.
Lead and take part in medium to large projects: report status and issues to team members and stakeholders, work with cross-functional teams, fix open bugs, keep delivery and hand-offs on schedule, and give input to the project manager on the plan.
Troubleshoot business and production issues: gather the issue, impact, criticality and likely root cause, bring in support teams, build and carry out an action plan, interpret results, and run root cause analysis to prevent repeats.
Answer user questions and concerns about technical feasibility and implementation, propose short- and long-term fixes, and lead cross-functional work to resolve them.
Keep your expertise current and use it to shape action plans, advise others on best practices, align work with customer and business needs, and build agreement on your positions.
Build relationships with key stakeholders, identify business needs, put the right processes in place, track progress and results, act on improvement opportunities, and adjust to shifting priorities, reorganisations and new duties.
