Senior Software Engineer

Description

Senior software engineer role that combines hands-on development with leading engineers and medium to large projects.

The role supports the business directly, handling its questions and production issues and turning them into workable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Guide small groups of engineers, listed as four to six two to four people, including offshore associates on assigned Engineering projects.
• Share documents, direction and examples, and set short- and long-term solutions and timelines.
• Review proposed solutions, give feedback, and perform design and code reviews of changes.
• Investigate business and production issues: gather the issue, its impact, criticality and likely root cause, bring in support teams, and build and carry out an action plan.
• Read the results of each step and decide what comes next, then run root cause analysis so issues do not return.
• Write up your work in online documentation.
• Answer questions and concerns from business users on technical feasibility and implementation, propose short- and long-term fixes, and lead cross-functional work to resolve them.
• Lead discovery on medium to large projects: review requirements, turn them into technical solutions, and collect design documents, product requirements and wireframes.
• Write and develop code, run unit tests, and report status and issues to the team and stakeholders.
• Work with the project team and other functions, fix open issues and bugs, keep delivery and handoffs on time, advise the project manager on the plan, and lead the project team.

Requirements

• Either a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Hands-on experience designing and building mobile applications with React Native.
• Experience building single page applications with the React library.
• Experience coding in JavaScript and TypeScript, and in HTML and CSS.
• Experience unit testing with Jest and Enzyme.
• Experience using Redux for state management.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) for applications.
• Experience consuming and testing APIs against mocks.
• Experience setting up logging and performance monitoring for debugging and diagnosis.
• Experience setting up linting, Flow and Storybook to improve compilation.
• Experience of any length with these skills is accepted.

Conditions

Pay ranges from $129,314.00 to $180,000.00 per year.
