Senior Software Engineer

Description

This senior software engineering role focuses on software for vehicle-level functions, working across vehicle hardware and software.

The team works with several groups to deliver project milestones on the company's vehicle programs.

Responsibilities

• Build software for vehicle-level functions and run integration and verification tests, with limited oversight from lead engineers.
• Investigate software defects, find the root cause, build a fix, test it, and confirm it is closed.
• Design and assess the impact of proposed changes before they are made.
• Diagnose and debug problems that span vehicle hardware and software.
• Coordinate with people across several groups to hit project milestones.
• Take on other related work as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a closely related field.
• 4 years working as a computer systems analyst, software engineer, or in a similar role.
• 4 years of experience in each of the following areas:
• Software development, data structures, databases, and integration.
• Scrum ceremonies, deployment, DevOps activities, and software development methodology.
• Technology evaluations and prototype implementation, plus test-driven development.
• Building 12-factor microservices with continuous integration, build, and delivery, using Spring, Spring Boot, and platform or infrastructure-as-a-service services such as object stores, configuration management, and service registries.
• Cloud infrastructure, including PCF/OCF and Azure, and microservice CI/CD with Spring, Spring Boot, and PaaS capabilities.
• Interface patterns, including RESTful APIs and event-based messaging.
• Java and JEE solutions across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Azure DevOps (ADO), GitHub, Artifactory, or similar tools, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.

Conditions

Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

You must be able to report to the local office.
