The company operates in more than 200 countries and territories and builds digital payment products that are secure, simple, smart and accessible.
You will join the Core Payments and Network Solutions team as a Senior Software Engineer, building software for payment and transaction-processing systems that combines development with quality engineering to produce secure, scalable, reliable applications and services.
You will work with engineers, architects and product teams on technical decisions, operational readiness, code reviews and mentoring junior engineers.
In your first 12 months you should deliver assigned components and their automation, strengthen automated validation of payment workflows and service interactions, produce secure and maintainable code, improve performance, reliability, observability and operational readiness, resolve complex technical issues in ways that prevent repeats, and support team skills through mentoring, reviews and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities
Design, build, test, deploy and maintain software components, automation frameworks and validation tools for payment-processing applications and services.
Use data structures, algorithms and efficient coding practices to build scalable solutions.
Take part in every stage of the software lifecycle, including deployment and monitoring.
Turn business requirements into maintainable designs using domain-driven design and established patterns.
Help shape architecture and system design for scalability, reliability, testability, observability and performance, and advise on microservices and cloud migration.
Write and maintain unit, functional and integration tests across applications and services.
Build test automation and add validation to CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and XL Release (XLR).
Plan test strategies covering payment workflows, service interactions, performance, reliability and production simulation.
Track code quality and coverage with Sonar and Clover.
Apply and promote secure coding, find and fix vulnerabilities, and build security testing into delivery pipelines.
Lead code reviews and review system designs, test strategies and implementation approaches.
Improve performance and scalability through load testing, tuning and bottleneck analysis.
Build observability, monitoring, resilience and operational readiness into solutions in every environment.
Investigate complex production incidents, find root causes and help resolve them quickly.
Work with engineering, architecture and product teams to deliver solutions and improve engineering practice.
Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across teams.
Assess and recommend tools, technologies and frameworks that drive continuous improvement.
