Senior Software Engineer, AI Networking

Description

The Hyperscale Engineering team builds networking solutions for large-scale AI infrastructure.

The role covers software development, system integration, troubleshooting and performance analysis, with work for customers as they go from early testing to production.

The company works on BlueField and ConnectX platforms.

Responsibilities

• Talk with customers to learn their networking needs and propose technical solutions.
• Build and integrate networking software for BlueField and ConnectX platforms.
• Test and tune RDMA and RoCE solutions for speed and reliability.
• Track down problems across applications, networking libraries, drivers, firmware and switches.
• Examine packet drops, congestion, latency and throughput, then pinpoint causes and suggest fixes.
• Write test cases and automation that reproduce issues, confirm fixes and measure performance.
• Work with software, firmware, architecture and product teams through development and deployment.
• Record findings and report progress, technical decisions and next steps.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 8+ years of software or systems engineering experience relevant to the role.
• Experience writing C and building or debugging software on Linux.
• Understanding of networking protocols and experience with RDMA, RoCE or other high-performance networking technologies.
• Experience investigating technical problems and weighing possible solutions.
• Clear communication and the ability to work with customers and colleagues across teams.
• Interest in learning new technologies and sharing what you know.
• Experience with BlueField, ConnectX, DOCA, DPDK or RDMA verbs would help you stand out.
• Knowledge of congestion control, QoS, PFC or ECN would help you stand out.
• Familiarity with AI workloads, NCCL or CUDA would help you stand out.
• Experience testing or deploying networking solutions at scale would help you stand out.
• Python or shell scripting for diagnostics and automation would help you stand out.

Conditions

Base salary depends on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar roles.

Base salary range is 184,000 USD to 287,500 USD for Level 4, and 224,000 USD to 356,500 USD for Level 5.
