Senior Software Engineer

The company is part of the growth engineering team and works on user acquisition, engagement and retention.

This is a senior software engineer role that reports to the Engineering Manager of Software Engineering and works closely with cross-functional teams on features that support growth goals.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship scalable, high-quality solutions with product managers, designers and other engineers.
• Design, build and maintain applications and services in TypeScript, Postgres and AWS using a serverless approach.
• Improve systems and processes to grow customer acquisition, retention and engagement.
• Set the standard with clean, maintainable and efficient code.
• Mentor junior engineers and encourage continuous learning and improvement.
• Take part in technical discussions, design reviews and code reviews to keep engineering standards high.
• Diagnose and fix complex technical problems in production.
• Keep up with new technologies and best practices to strengthen the tech stack.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, focused on backend and serverless architecture.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Postgres and AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway and S3.
• Experience with software design patterns, microservices and RESTful APIs.
• A lean approach: deliver customer value by cutting waste, streamlining workflows and improving iteratively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a quick-moving, changing environment.
• Clear communication and a collaborative, team-first attitude.
• Preferred: experience with growth-focused projects or improving user journeys.

Conditions

Reports to the Engineering Manager of Software Engineering.

In-office work at the Palo Alto office, Monday to Wednesday.
