Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Description

You would join the Search Funnel team, which owns the core buyer journey.

This is a full stack role with real ownership of high-traffic systems, key parts of the user experience, and business outcomes.

It suits an engineer who already uses GenAI to lift their own productivity and wants to shape a large organization.

Engineering changes quickly and everyone keeps learning, so you do not need to know everything.

Curiosity and a steady drive to learn and grow matter most, and you would help the team become AI-first.

Stack: frontend with React, TypeScript and Zustand; backend with Node.js, Java and REST APIs; infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, SQS and more) with CI/CD through GitHub Actions; observability with Datadog; plus an internal experimentation platform, analytics tooling and feature flag systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead feature development across a team of strong fullstack engineers using React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java and Next.js.
• Make key technical decisions, set code design standards and keep the system healthy over the long term with the team.
• Build and maintain a modular monolith that is clean, scalable and durable.
• Take an AI-first approach at every stage of you-build-it-you-run-it, from design and coding to testing, deployment and operations.
• Work hands-on in real product codebases, such as TypeScript, Node or Next.js, or Java with Spring, using GenAI tools to move faster, raise quality and simplify current systems.
• Improve frontend speed, with a focus on Core Web Vitals and user experience.
• Design cloud backend services that are efficient, observable and ready for production.
• Run A/B experiments, measure performance and make data-informed decisions.
• Mentor engineers across the team and build a high-performance engineering culture.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Led teams of 5+ people in recent years.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Experience applying sound code design principles.
• Built and run high-traffic applications in a product-focused setting.
• Demonstrated excellence in using GenAI coding tools, preferably Codex, to clearly speed up and improve your own work.
• Have integrated LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI or similar into production applications.
• Strong grasp of frontend performance, SEO and Core Web Vitals.
• Comfortable with experimentation, feature flags and data-driven iteration.
• Clear communicator and natural mentor who can guide technical decisions and grow people.
• Solid Java backend skills and knowledge of distributed systems. Scala is a plus.
• Experience with marketplace platforms or high-visibility consumer products.
• Familiar with frontend architecture at scale, including routing, state and modular UI design.
• Have contributed to frontend or backend tooling, testing approaches or performance profiling.
