Description
The team sits within the Risk Assessment Group and builds the governance, assurance and data foundations that make every risk decision consistent, explainable, auditable and monitored over time.
The role spans the Risk API platform, Product and Financial Crime (FinCrime) teams, and the goal is to build the systems that let the company trust each risk assessment it runs at scale.
The team is early in building assurance for the platform, so the work will be visible and important to the governance layer as a whole.
The company is a global technology company that helps people and businesses move and manage money across borders, and it is building a new network for the world's money.
Responsibilities
Build data trust by adding data quality monitoring, data contracts and lineage tracking, so every risk decision can be traced back to its source data.
Design automated monitoring that checks controls keep working, catching drift, false positives and negatives, and coverage gaps early.
Create audit trail infrastructure and explainability tools that cut the effort needed for regulatory reporting and compliance evidence.
Own the design of data ownership, lineage and quality systems that keep risk decisions tied to trusted data.
Design continuous monitoring and validation to confirm controls use the right trigger, the right data and the right decision, and remain effective.
Build high-throughput, reliable solutions for large data volumes that other risk domains can understand and reuse.
Work with the Risk API team to add governance and assurance into the core platform, agreeing clean integration points and shared data contracts.
Requirements
Proven experience building high-throughput, data-heavy backend systems in any language.
Hands-on work with Kafka, SQL and NoSQL databases, and designing for scale and reliability.
Experience with data quality frameworks, pipeline orchestration or lineage tracking, and an understanding of what makes data reliable at scale.
Ability to reason about complex distributed systems, spot failure modes and design solutions that are robust yet simple to operate.
Comfort working with ambiguity, setting your own tasks from high-level goals, and driving work from start to finish with little direction.
Ability to collaborate across teams, especially with the Risk API team, Product and FinCrime stakeholders, to agree on contracts, data models and integration patterns.
Conditions
The team is international, and the company treats equal opportunity as a core value.
