Senior Software Engineer

Description

The company provides vehicle history information that helps millions of people every day shop for, buy, service and sell used cars.

The role sits on a product used across the US market, and the team is a mix of engineers, project managers and product owners.

Responsibilities

• Build web applications for a high-impact product serving the US market, learning from mentors and a supportive team across several areas.
• Help build new features for cloud API products and microservices, with a focus on Infrastructure as Code.
• Connect several internal backend services that run in the cloud to give customers a strong experience.
• Practise test-driven development, pair programming and continuous integration in an agile setting.
• Work with developers, project managers and product owners in Poland and the US.
• Lead and coach junior developers, setting coding standards and helping them improve their skills and performance.

Requirements

• You bring 5+ years of professional work in Java or another JVM language like Kotlin or Groovy.
• You have 3+ years of professional work with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• You have worked with React, AngularJS, or Vue.js. React is the team's main framework.
• You have used the Spring Framework or a similar one to design and build RESTful web services or microservices.
• You have built applications on Amazon Web Services or similar cloud platforms and know IaC tools like Terraform or CDK.
• You analyse problems well and can track down bugs in complex systems.
• You collaborate well and have worked in agile teams.
• You know sound engineering practice: clean code, clean architecture and thorough testing.
• You communicate well in English with teams across countries.
• Preferred: hands-on DevOps work with CI/CD, GitLab and Docker.
• Preferred: familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.
• Preferred: experience writing APIs that follow RESTful and GraphQL standards.
• Preferred: a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
