Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (Repayments UX)

The Repayment UX Engineering team is growing and is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer.

The team is fully based in Europe, in one time zone, and works with a Silicon Valley culture.

The team builds and owns the user journeys that let over 20 million people repay loans, which add up to more than $40B a year.

Work is agile and the impact on user behavior is measured closely. You set your own path toward objectives that are clearly defined, and you learn from experienced teammates while working on problems at scale.

Responsibilities

• You own and deliver the team's quarterly goals, guide engineers through unclear, open-ended problems, and make sure everyone gets support during delivery.
• You work with product management, design and analytics across the product lifecycle, taking part in ideation, explaining technical limits, and helping make decisions that weigh risks and trade-offs.
• You spot project, process, technology and business problems early, push for fixes, and lead the work to solve them.
• You keep the team's systems running by building and watching metrics, escalating issues when needed, and taking part in maintenance and on-call work.
• You raise quality and ownership on the team by setting or improving code review and design standards, and promote them more widely through writing and tech talks.
• You help grow people on the team through feedback and guidance, and by setting an example.
• You will be on the on-call rotation, which is required for this role.

Requirements

• You have 4+ years of experience building and designing mobile apps, ideally with declarative UI frameworks such as React Native.
• You have shipped web apps with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
• You have designed, built and launched backend systems and are proficient in Python or Kotlin.
• Experience building and designing mobile apps with declarative UI frameworks such as React Native is a plus.
• You have written technical plans for delivering a significant feature or system component, with a design that is elegant, simple and easy to extend. You write high-quality code that others can understand and use.
• You are skilled at making large changes in a big codebase and have built tools and practices that let you and your team do this safely.
• You actively seek feedback from your team, your manager and your stakeholders to grow.
• You communicate clearly in speech and writing, which helps you work well with the global engineering team.

Conditions

Equity grade: 4

New hires usually start at the bottom of the pay range. Pay is set according to a clear, transparent structure based on location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of total compensation, which may also include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech, plus benefits. Equity may be offered by the company Holdings, Inc. (the parent company).

Base pay range per year (ESP): €86,000 - €122,000

The company can sponsor a visa for this role, but the person must be based in Spain.

LI-Remote

The company is remote-first. Most roles can be done from almost anywhere in the country of employment, though some require occasional in-person work at an office and a few are office-based. All new hires are invited to an in-person onboarding.
