Senior Software Engineer

Description

The company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in the Engineering category for a full-time, regular position.

You will build software that lets a multidisciplinary engineering team deliver a mission simulation system.

The work centres on designing advanced software architectures for a cloud-based RF simulation environment, weighing design trade-offs, and making software and components work with complex RF solutions.

You will collaborate with RF hardware engineers, system designers and other stakeholders to produce a reliable, high-performance RF system simulation.

You will report risks and opportunities to program executive leadership.

Minimum clearance to start is TS/SCI. Travel is up to 10%, local only. The anticipated posting end date is 3/1/2027.

Responsibilities

• Design and build software for a cloud-based simulation environment that meets functional and non-functional needs, including performance, scalability and reliability.
• Deploy and run systems on Linux, Docker, Kubernetes/Helm, ArgoCD and Git, keeping uptime and performance high.
• Assess and integrate technologies to improve the performance and efficiency of software components and virtual interfaces.
• Set and enforce technical standards for cloud software and infrastructure so that systems stay consistent, interoperable and easy to maintain.
• Bring simulation tools into the environment to support RF simulations.
• Write thorough documentation covering software architectures, design decisions and technical standards.

Requirements

• Required: You must be a US citizen holding an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Required: You need 7 years of proven software engineering experience and a bachelor's degree or higher in computer engineering or a closely related field such as computer science.
• Required: You need some working knowledge of RF technologies, including antenna systems, signal processing, modulation techniques and wireless communication protocols.
• Required: You need hands-on experience supporting systems of similar scope and complexity.
• Required: You need 3 or more years of experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, ActiveMQ, MongoDB and Elastic Stack, or similar tools.
• Required: You need experience with automated deployment pipelines built on DevOps tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Nexus and Artifactory, or similar platforms.
• Required: You need experience working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Kubernetes.
• Desired: Familiarity with RF software tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
• Desired: Experience setting up cloud infrastructure with auto-scaling on AWS or Kubernetes.
• Desired: Knowledge of Linux or Red Hat.
• Desired: Python programming experience.

Conditions

Salary depends on several factors, including geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant prior experience, specific skills, education and certifications.

Because the role can be filled in more than one location, the stated range is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range is $98,500-$206,800.
