Description

The company is a security-first enterprise AI company that builds foundation models and end-to-end products for solving practical business problems.

It trains and deploys frontier models for enterprises building AI systems, and the team includes researchers, engineers, designers and others who care about their craft.

The company is a global technology business headquartered in Toronto, with offices in London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul.

Responsibilities

  • Advise the leadership of your team and partner teams on security issues, explaining the business risk each one carries.
  • Make cloud-native environments on AWS, OCI and GCP more secure by building in secure-by-default controls.
  • Drive fixes that let engineers design, build and run infrastructure securely at scale, using infrastructure-as-code modules and reusable code libraries as the default path.
  • Manage IAM and RBAC for cloud infrastructure, working with IT to give unified access control through streamlined authentication and authorization.
  • Deploy, connect and operate security platforms and services, such as SIEM, SOAR, domain monitoring, endpoint tooling and cloud security tooling.
  • Respond to security incidents and strengthen environments afterwards.
  • Help monitor controls and remediate gaps for compliance initiatives.
  • Collect and analyse security metrics to resolve issues that span several teams.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand their needs and deliver practical, scalable security solutions that add as little friction as possible.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience in SecOps, DevSecOps, cloud security, threat detection and response, or software development with a strong security engineering focus.
  • You are a hands-on security engineer who prefers automating controls and building scalable solutions over manual work.
  • You have managed cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure or OCI) and Kubernetes environments.
  • You are familiar with CI/CD systems and SecOps workflows using Git and Terraform in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure or OCI).
  • You have practical experience with one or more of: infrastructure automation, network segmentation, system hardening, container and cloud security concepts, and security observability.
  • You have worked in multiple languages, such as Golang and/or Python.
  • You can work through ambiguity, make sound decisions with incomplete information, and change your approach as requirements shift.
  • You solve problems in a flexible and constructive way.
  • You can weigh build versus buy, build solutions yourself, and assess which existing tools fit.
  • You understand secure engineering best practices and can explain problems and propose solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Conditions

Remote work is supported, and there are offices in Toronto, London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul, with more planned.

Office-based staff get a daily lunch program, plenty of snacks, and regular community and social events.

Remote staff get a co-working benefit to work alongside others in their city.

The company welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and is committed to equal opportunity.

Applicants who do not match every point of the experience listed are still encouraged to apply.

Benefits

  • A weekly lunch stipend of $75 or £75, or the equivalent in your local currency.
  • Full health and dental coverage, with a separate mental health budget.
  • RRSP matching, a 401K and a pension scheme.
  • 100% parental leave top-up for up to 6 months, for either parent.
  • Annual enrichment budget covering arts and culture, fitness and wellness, quality time, and a workspace improvement credit.
  • An education and learning stipend for conferences, courses and coaching.
