Description

The company is a Fortune 10 healthcare firm that delivers insights, products and services to make quality care more accessible and affordable.

The team treats Salesforce as an enterprise application platform rather than only a CRM, and this senior role is for a hands-on engineer who designs scalable architectures, builds high-performance integrations and solves complex business problems with modern software engineering practices.

You will work across the whole Salesforce ecosystem, from declarative automation and Lightning Web Components to Apex services, event-driven architectures and Java Spring Boot microservices.

You will work with product owners, architects and business leaders to deliver resilient, secure and scalable solutions for critical business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and tune enterprise Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, SOQL and Platform Events.
  • Design and build scalable Java Spring Boot APIs and microservices that connect Salesforce to enterprise systems.
  • Build reliable integrations using REST, SOAP, event-driven patterns and middleware.
  • Decide when to use declarative configuration and when to write custom code.
  • Lead technical design and code reviews, and set standards for architecture, security, testing, observability and performance.
  • Create reusable frameworks, components and patterns that make developers faster and the platform easier to maintain.
  • Work with business stakeholders to turn strategic goals into scalable technical solutions, and explain technical tradeoffs in plain terms.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture coaching, pairing and knowledge sharing.
  • Drive DevOps practices covering source control, automated testing, CI/CD, release automation and environment management.
  • Keep improving platform reliability, scalability, developer experience and delivery speed.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience designing and building complex applications on the Salesforce platform.
  • Advanced skill in Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL, Salesforce Flow and platform architecture.
  • Solid experience building and supporting production APIs and services with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce security, sharing models, data architecture, governor limits and integration patterns.
  • Experience designing for scale, maintainability, fault tolerance and performance.
  • Working knowledge of Git, automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering practices.
  • Proven record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience on Agile, product-oriented engineering teams.
  • Communicate complex technical ideas clearly to engineers, product partners and business stakeholders.
  • Build trust across functions, take ownership from design through production support, and use sound judgment.
  • Handle ambiguity with curiosity, structured problem solving and a willingness to keep learning.
  • Balance technical quality with business priorities, customer impact and delivery dates, making pragmatic tradeoffs.
  • Give and take constructive feedback, coach peers with empathy and reach decisions through respectful influence.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Optional: Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I/II, Application Architect, System Architect or Integration Architect.
  • Optional: Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud and large enterprise Salesforce implementations.
  • Optional: Familiarity with MuleSoft or other integration and API management platforms.
  • Optional: Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP and cloud-native engineering practices.
  • Optional: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes or other containerization and orchestration tools.
  • Optional: Experience with event-driven architectures, distributed systems and enterprise integration patterns.

The pay range is $127,500 - $212,500 and reflects factors such as performance, experience and skills, equity, periodic market reviews and location.
