Description

The company builds autonomous defence platforms and AI software for NATO Allies and partner nations, designed to work in the harshest operating conditions.

Its command and control platform runs those autonomous systems. The team combines advanced software work with embedded hardware and builds mission-critical systems used in real field operations.

This role centres on embedded perception: vision and perception pipelines for the autonomous platforms, moving older architectures onto modular ROS2, and keeping performance high on limited compute.

Responsibilities

  • Build and integrate real-time perception pipelines that run on embedded boards such as the Jetson Nano NX.
  • Move monolithic legacy software to ROS2 by refactoring and splitting it into modules that scale and are easier to maintain.
  • Make image data reachable between native and containerized components, such as Dockerized ROS2 processes, and tune that access.
  • Write low-level drivers for cameras and sensors used in real-time image capture.
  • Work with the AI, controls and hardware teams so perception connects tightly with the other onboard subsystems.
  • Profile and debug performance under embedded limits of compute, heat and bandwidth, so the system stays stable in the field.
  • Take part in system architecture discussions, focusing on reliable communication and modularity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and integrating perception modules with ROS2.
  • Working knowledge of Python and C++ for embedded and robotics code.
  • Background in robotics, autonomous systems, embedded development or aerospace applications.
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux, especially NVIDIA Jetson devices.
  • Experience putting containerized processes, such as Docker, onto onboard robotic systems.
  • Ability to work across ROS2, legacy or custom codebases and third-party modules.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging, especially under real-time or limited-resource constraints.
  • Clear communicator who works well in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Self-driven and organized, and able to adapt to quick development cycles.
  • Prior experience in defence technology, autonomous drone swarms or 3D computer vision.
  • Open to occasional travel for field testing and deployment.

Conditions

Because the work is in the defence sector, you must be eligible to obtain and keep the security clearance this role requires. Details are shared during recruitment.

Benefits

  • Your work on the software and systems helps protect personnel and supports European and national sovereignty.
  • You work with leading experts in autonomous systems, advanced propulsion and secure cyber platforms.
  • The company backs R&D seriously, and bold ideas get support in a collaborative setting.
