Description

The company is looking for a Senior Research Scientist to lead research on using AI to design, analyze, implement and verify secure computer systems. The work covers hardware architectures, firmware, operating systems, runtimes, compilers, libraries and applications, and draws on generative AI and agents alongside program analysis, formal methods, synthesis, computer architecture and software engineering.

The aim is to make security something that can be designed in and verified from the start, rather than bolted on after deployment. You will build AI-enabled techniques that help researchers and engineers state security requirements, compare designs, find flaws, generate secure implementations, build or check proofs, and produce trustworthy hardware and software at practical scale. The company is a leader in accelerated computing and AI systems. In this role you will help set research direction and shape future platforms, turning foundational work into practical capabilities with research, product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Set a high-impact research agenda and lead projects on AI-enabled secure system design, implementation, analysis and verification.
  • Build models, agents and tools for security requirements and specifications, threat modeling, architecture exploration, secure code and hardware generation, program analysis, synthesis and proof construction.
  • Pair AI techniques with static and dynamic analysis, formal verification, symbolic reasoning, testing and security domain knowledge so results are reliable and machine-checkable.
  • Create end-to-end prototypes and test them on realistic hardware and software systems, measuring security, correctness, scalability, performance and human productivity.
  • Work with hardware, software, AI, research and product teams, publish original research, mentor researchers and interns, and turn results into practical developer and design tools.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent research experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience with a strong research record, shown through influential publications, open-source systems, patents, technology transfer or substantial research collaborations.
  • Deep expertise in at least one area such as formal methods, program analysis, programming languages, software or hardware security, computer architecture, compilers, AI for code, or automated reasoning and synthesis.
  • Experience defining and leading ambiguous, multi-disciplinary research projects and mentoring others technically.
  • Strong skills in implementation and experiments with C, C++, Python, hardware description languages, theorem provers, analysis frameworks or relevant AI/ML tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to link foundational research to real engineering and product needs.

Conditions

Base salary depends on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar roles. The base salary range is 224,000 USD to 356,500 USD for Level 5, and 272,000 USD to 431,250 USD for Level 6.

Applications will be accepted at least until October 26, 2026.
