Senior Project Manager-MEP Building Automation Controls

Description

The company provides consulting services to a financial services client account, helping it reach its strategic business goals.

You will lead office infrastructure construction projects onsite and across the region. The projects are MEP upgrades and installations in occupied offices inside smart buildings, with a focus on BMS (Building Management Systems) automation controls.

The role sits in the Project Management function and acts as Owner's Representative, managing projects from initiation to completion.

The role is hybrid, with onsite work and about 20% out-of-town regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage every phase of multiple real estate projects: planning, design, construction, occupancy and closeout.
• Work directly with clients on all project elements, including scope of work, delivery resource needs, cost estimates and budget, work plan schedule and milestones, quality control and risk identification.
• Report project progress to the Project Management Director and other business leaders.
• Coach and manage other Project Managers so they build deep knowledge across most or all areas of the function.
• Set the project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the project qualification process. Run complex requests for proposals, evaluate bids and recommend resources to clients.
• Keep all functions on schedule and make sure issues are resolved or escalated.
• Run regular meetings to review status on active and pending projects.
• Work with the project team to develop solutions and guide them through implementation and completion.
• Use advanced knowledge to find and build better methods for meeting individual and department goals.
• Demonstrate deep expertise in your own field and solid knowledge of other subject areas within the function.
• Drive customer, operational, project and service outcomes across multi-discipline teams, within functional policies that shape procedures and policies.
• Help create new products, processes, standards or operating plans that support functional goals.
• Lead by example and act in line with company values. Anticipate objections and win over senior leaders and stakeholders with differing interests to adopt a different view.

Requirements

• You must be currently authorized to work in the United States, now and in the future, without visa sponsorship.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, along with 8-10 years of relevant experience. A combination of experience and education will be considered in place of a degree.
• PE, LEED AP, PMP and/or CCM designations are preferred.
• Owner's Representative experience for a Class A financial or professional services client is required, along with infrastructure or MEP experience.
• Strong knowledge of BMS controls, building automation and smart buildings is desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. Knowledge of PM Web or similar project management software is also expected.
• A solid record of working with senior leadership in a strategic capacity and of leading delivery resources is required.
• You must be able to lead multiple projects or programs at different stages in a fast-moving, demanding environment.
