Description

The company is a global sports brand that makes footwear, apparel and accessories for athletes and everyday movers.

The group also owns two other brands, operates in 120+ countries and employs around 22,000 people.

You would own the backlog for one product area, here the checkout within basket and checkout, and work in a squad with the Teamhead / Portfolio Owner to agree priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Turn portfolio strategy and investment priorities into user stories, acceptance criteria and sprint goals, and keep a prioritised roadmap that supports portfolio objectives.
  • Make sure each backlog item has a clear outcome and measurable success criteria, and keep reordering work based on performance, insight and changing business needs.
  • Spot friction, failure points and improvement opportunities in the checkout.
  • Work with UX/UI, Research and CRO so solutions rest on user insight and behavioural data, and take part in research, testing and experiments.
  • Base product decisions on data and validated learning rather than opinion.
  • Champion consumer-centred thinking within the squad and with stakeholders.
  • Work with Engineering, Design and Data to deliver high-quality work on time, balancing discovery with regular releases.
  • Manage dependencies across teams and portfolios, and raise risks, trade-offs and delivery constraints early with the Teamhead.
  • Involve Finance, Legal, Compliance, Security and other functions where needed.
  • Contribute to portfolio KPIs such as conversion, payment success, engagement and reliability, and define feature-level metrics with Data & Analytics.
  • Use trends and insight to refine the backlog, and report impact, learnings and progress to global and regional stakeholders in forums and planning sessions.

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years in digital product roles such as Product Owner, Product Manager or similar.
  • Significant experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager on transactional digital products.
  • Strong experience on eCommerce checkout, payments or conversion-critical journeys.
  • A proven record of delivering complex features with engineering and design teams.
  • Experience working in agile teams that manage backlogs and delivery cycles.
  • Deep knowledge of checkout flows, payments and digital commerce best practice.
  • Skill in prioritising work that improves conversion, reliability and user experience.
  • Strong backlog ownership and delivery management.
  • Ability to work closely with designers to create seamless transactional experiences.
  • Understanding of technical topics such as payment integrations, fraud and platform performance.
  • Strong analytical mindset with an eye for optimisation opportunities.
  • Clear communicator who can coordinate engineering, design and commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of conversion optimisation and customer journey performance.
  • Experience with payment providers, checkout systems or commerce platforms, which is highly beneficial.
