Description

Remote role open only to candidates in the Eastern and Central time zones, with some travel required.

The company is a venture-backed startup working to widen access to education and career paths. Rising tuition and shrinking loan availability leave many first-generation and working-class students short of the money to finish school. The company is the leading provider of institutionally funded gap loan programs, working with schools to design, launch, and run lending programs that help students stay enrolled and graduate.

The company recently closed a Series B and is moving into its next stage of growth.

The work spans two lines. The talent line connects healthcare employers with diverse candidates and uses student loan repayment as a recruiting and retention tool. The lending line gives colleges and universities the technology to run their own private student loan programs so they can fund students directly, a need that recent federal financial aid changes have made more urgent.

The team is hiring a Product Manager, at PM or Senior PM level depending on the candidate. You will own the candidate and recruiter experience in the talent line: the end-to-end product that helps healthcare students find jobs with loan repayment support and gives employers a platform they can rely on to build long-term clinical pipelines. You will report to the Director of Product, who oversees both lines.

Responsibilities

  • Own the candidate funnel from first discovery through account creation, profile completion, application, interview, and offer signing. Drive activation, conversion, and retention, set the funnel metrics, instrument what matters, and run the experiments that shift results.
  • Own the platform healthcare employers use daily to source, screen, and place candidates. Recruiters work in it every day, so their efficiency has a direct effect on the business.
  • Find and ship features that make a student more likely to follow through on an open role and make each new employer more useful to students.
  • Spend real time with healthcare students and the recruiters who hire them. Learn what students want from their careers and what worries them about job searching, and watch recruiters work under pressure to fill critical roles. Base decisions on what you hear, not on assumptions.
  • Work with the student marketing team on top-of-funnel performance, including landing pages, conversion paths, and channel-specific experiences. Own the handoff from acquisition into the product.
  • Work with partner success to learn how employers really use the platform, where they get stuck, and what they need. Turn that feedback into product investment.
  • Help build out the testing, instrumentation, and analysis practices so the team can learn quickly and decide with confidence, and bring rigor to how success is measured.
  • Represent the candidate's perspective in every product decision. Choosing an employer is a major career and financial step for students, so keep the experience serious in tone while removing unnecessary friction.
  • Coordinate with design, engineering, and the product manager who owns the experience after a candidate signs an offer.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience. The work you have done counts for more than the credential.
  • 5+ years in product management, with substantial time on consumer growth, onboarding, activation, or two-sided marketplace products. You have shipped work that clearly improved a funnel or an activation curve.
  • You understand funnel mechanics, conversion work, experimentation, and instrumentation. You can review a flow, find where users drop off and why, and decide what to test. You have run real experimentation programs, not just isolated A/B tests.
  • You have worked on a marketplace or platform with two distinct user types, or you reliably balance competing needs across them. You know the user and the customer are often different people.
  • You have a record of staying close to users by talking with them, watching them use the product, and turning what you learn into product decisions. You design for real people, not imagined personas.
  • You have deep experience working alongside engineering. You discuss trade-offs and planning with engineers instead of handing them requirements.
  • You are comfortable with funnel analytics, cohort analysis, and experiment design. You work with data teams to define the right metrics and own the results.
  • You work well with marketing, customer success, design, engineering, and analytics. You can align stakeholders with different incentives around shared product goals.
  • You communicate clearly in writing and speaking, and you can explain complex ideas to technical colleagues, non-technical colleagues, executives, and external partners.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Experience with HR tech or applicant tracking systems.

Conditions

Base salary ranges from $125,000 to $160,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, qualifications, and industry knowledge.

Work authorization: this role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship now or in the future. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

The company uses AI-assisted tools in parts of hiring, such as transcribing or summarizing interviews, scheduling, and supporting evaluation in technical assessments. People review every application and make every hiring decision. AI tools do not make final decisions about candidates. You may use AI to research the company and prepare, but during live interviews and assessments you should not use tools that generate or feed you answers in real time. If you would prefer an evaluation without AI tools or need an accommodation, ask the recruiting team and they will arrange another process.

Benefits

  • Eligible employees receive an equity component in addition to base salary, so they can share in the company's success and growth.
