Description

The company is a health insurer founded in 2012 that is built on a full stack technology platform and centres its work on members. It was set up to offer the kind of coverage its founders would want for their own families.

The team is hiring a Senior Product Manager for a new all-in-one marketplace where people shop for healthcare, much as they already buy cars, homes and everyday products, with clear pricing and real choice. The marketplace is meant to serve millions of people, including business owners, full- and part-time employees, gig workers and early retirees.

The marketplace serves direct-to-consumer shoppers and employees shopping through ICHRA arrangements. AI tools and broker support help them compare health plans, supplemental products, telehealth benefits and other healthcare goods and services.

You will set the strategy for the marketplace and lead its product direction, working closely with Engineering, Data and Design. You will set priorities across growth, user experience, AI work and strategic partnerships. You will coordinate with the product managers for the enrollment platform and ICHRA tooling so that shoppers get one continuous experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision, strategy and roadmap for the product investments behind the marketplace, then build solutions that fit that strategy and defend your choices.
  • Set OKRs and KPIs that measure business and operational results, and keep looking for ways to improve them.
  • Bring together the right people to tackle strategic or execution problems, including when the problem is not yet clearly defined.
  • Work across teams and domains to find the root cause of issues quickly, weighing trade-offs between speed, scalability and quality to reach a fix.
  • Lead complex initiatives and shape decisions without formal authority. Own timelines, hold cross-functional teams accountable and identify risks early.
  • Work with engineers, product managers and operations partners to learn what users need and ship features that improve operational and financial efficiency.
  • Write clear, complete requirements and share them across stakeholders, using data and user research. Create materials that junior team members can learn from.
  • Mentor junior team members to grow the talent on the product team.
  • Follow all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineers, designers, operations specialists and others, in product management or a closely related role.
  • At least 4 years of experience running rigorous prioritization processes.
  • At least 4 years of experience with technology systems, including basic infrastructure such as backend services and database relationships, and hands-on use of database tools such as SQL.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading complex initiatives that span several domains.
  • At least 2 years of experience finding the root cause of ambiguous problems, building a roadmap toward a solution and carrying it out.
  • Bonus: experience with ecommerce or two-sided marketplaces is preferred.
  • Bonus: deep knowledge of A/B testing practices.

Conditions

This is a remote role open to candidates who live in San Francisco, CA. You will work fully remote, though the company's approach may change over time, and future arrangements could involve a hybrid schedule at the hub office in your metro area.

The base pay is $163,944.00 to $215,176.50 per year. The final offer within that range depends on your relevant skills, education and experience.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and works to build an environment where everyone can bring their full self and feel they belong.

Benefits

  • You are eligible for employee benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, 11 paid holidays, paid sick time, paid parental leave, 401(k) plan participation, life and disability insurance, and paid wellness time with reimbursements. Full-time employees qualify for these benefits.
  • You can take unlimited vacation under the company's vacation program.
  • You are eligible for company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.
