Description

The company designs, builds, and runs the largest constellation of imaging satellites ever flown, and sells the data through a cloud platform to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian customers.

It is both a space company and a data company, controlling hardware, manufacturing, data processing, and software itself, so the team mixes specialists from many fields.

Staff work remotely across the world and also sit in offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and the Netherlands.

The platform is being extended so that customers can run dedicated, in-region, or on-premises instances of it. This role leads product work for isolated, air-gapped, and hybrid setups.

Responsibilities

  • Run in-depth discovery with high-security enterprise and government stakeholders to learn how they actually operate, then use that to set product priorities you can defend.
  • Shape a phased customer journey: initial installation, joint training with the customer's operators, and a handover to customer-run environments with zero or limited vendor access. Define the operating models, readiness criteria, and governance standards for each phase.
  • Turn customer operational and security needs into clear technical specifications for the Core Infrastructure and Engineering teams. Spot where clients with different vocabulary describe the same need, so the company does not build duplicate work.
  • Define standard building blocks that let the core platform run safely in edge and air-gapped settings without a custom version for each deployment.
  • Set clear limits on what belongs in the core platform and what may be customized.
  • Design hooks and interfaces so Professional Services and integration partners can build custom extensions without changing core platform code.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in technical product management on enterprise platforms, hybrid cloud deployments, or complex infrastructure products.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • You can sit with enterprise or government clients, follow complex operational workflows, and find the root problem behind differing terms.
  • You have productized cloud-native software to run in customer-managed infrastructure, enterprise VPCs, or air-gapped data centers.
  • You understand hybrid patterns such as AWS Outposts, Azure Stack, Kubernetes-based enterprise platforms like Red Hat OpenShift, and infrastructure automation tools like HashiCorp Terraform and Vault, at a conceptual level.
  • You have set clear boundaries between core platform roadmap items and custom extensions delivered by Professional Services.
  • You are detail-oriented and can map out complex transitions, training milestones, and access handoffs.

Conditions

Full-time hybrid role, working from the Berlin, Haarlem, or Ljubljana office 3 days per week.

Stand out: prior experience with European sovereign cloud frameworks, regional data residency mandates, or EU defense and government compliance standards.

Expected starting gross salary for Germany is €77.000 - €96.300 EUR. Placement within the range is based on gender-neutral criteria such as skills, qualifications, and experience.

The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or equity.

Under the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, the company will consider applicants with arrest and conviction records.

The company values belonging and welcomes applicants who do not meet every listed qualification.

Applications close at 23:45 CET on the date stated below. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the posting may be removed before then once enough suitable applications arrive.

Benefits

  • Benefits depend on employment type and location, as allowed by law or company policy.
  • Paid time off, including vacation, public holidays, and company-wide days off.
  • Employee wellness program.
  • Home office reimbursement.
  • Monthly phone and internet reimbursement.
  • Tuition reimbursement and access to LinkedIn Learning.
  • Equity.
