The company builds the company aiR, an AI platform for legal data intelligence, and is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape its next generation.
This role suits a strategic designer who also builds, able to take an idea from sketch to working, production-quality code with AI.
You will work across design and hands-on implementation on core case strategy workflows, alongside Product, Engineering and UX Research, to help legal teams reach insights faster and build a defensible case strategy through data-driven storytelling.
Hybrid or remote.
Responsibilities
Lead design for the Discovery domain.
Own design from discovery through delivery for core case strategy workflows such as early case insights, conflict detection, and deposition and trial preparation. Keep the end-to-end experience in mind for legal teams at law firms, corporations and government bodies. Co-own product direction with product managers by spotting opportunities and helping set what gets built next.
Design AI features with applied scientists and product managers, including fact auditing, transcript analysis, memo drafting, document review, PI redaction and knowledge management. Shape how AI presents recommendations so legal teams can see why they appear, trust them, and act on them.
Build real interfaces in code, not just static mockups, using AI-assisted development to get from concept to working software quickly. Work with engineers to move prototypes into production, making sure the work is tested, accessible, reviewed and shipped to customers.
Produce mockups, interactive prototypes and detailed specifications that make your decisions clear to engineering, product and executive stakeholders. Run iterative reviews and help the team reach aligned decisions fast.
Work within the company's design system, RUI, and help advance it. Keep discovery screens consistent, accessible and scalable, and push back on existing patterns where they fall short with new UI solutions that bring the interface up to date. Treat the system as a foundation to build on, not a limit.
Build lasting working relationships with subject matter experts inside the company and at partner firms. Use their knowledge to test assumptions about discovery workflows and feed what you learn into the design and roadmap.
Travel on-site now and then for discovery sessions, demos, conferences and customer events. Present work to stakeholders and executives, collect feedback on the spot, and turn it into the next iteration.
Requirements
6 to 8+ years as a product or UX designer, with a portfolio showing complex workflow design for enterprise users.
Solid human-centered design practice, including research synthesis, journey mapping and iterative prototyping.
A bias toward action: you finish work, ship in increments, and prefer putting something real in front of users over waiting for complete information.
Able to look ahead on the roadmap, anticipate what customers will need, and flag early where a design or implementation must adapt to a specific customer or jurisdiction, before it turns into rework.
Strong collaboration across product, engineering, applied science and research.
Proven foundational visual design skills: layout, spacing, typography and color theory.
Proven ability to build and ship production-ready front-end code, including working inside an existing codebase.
A record of using AI-assisted development to speed up delivery.
Able to explain design decisions clearly and influence direction at all levels of seniority.
Proficient with modern design and development tools, including AI-assisted workflows and AI-native development environments such as Claude, Claude Code and Cursor, plus Git for version control.
Knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG and Section 508.
Expertise in designing and delivering micro-interactions or motion design.
Experience designing AI-assisted features, especially artifact creation, knowledge building or chat-based experiences.
Experience contributing directly to a production codebase alongside engineers, through pull requests, code review and CI/CD.
Required skills: design systems, design thinking, information design, interaction design, prototyping, user experience (UX), user interface (UI) design, user interfaces (UI), visual design, wireframing.
