This is a senior principal statistical programming role at the company, with hybrid working.
You will take programming leadership on complex studies and programs, work closely with cross-functional teams, and produce outputs that are ready for regulatory use.
Responsibilities
Serve as lead programmer for one or several trials, or as lead or program programmer for a whole program or indication.
Set statistical programming decisions and propose strategies at study, program or indication level, and direct internal and external programmers where needed.
You may coordinate the work of internal and external programmers and act as functional manager for associates, guiding them on operational and functional expertise and processes.
Build and maintain working relationships with cross-functional teams, summarising and discussing deliverable status and key programming matters such as timelines, scope and resourcing, including as the statistical programming representative on study or program teams.
Review the eCRF and data structures, and standardise programming across a program so that pooling and case record tabulation (CRT) production stay efficient.
Follow company, department and industry standards such as CDISC and internal processes. Identify and clarify extra programming needs, and review, write and shape programming specifications within analysis plans, including program-level strategy.
Deliver statistical programming solutions, share knowledge with the team, and act as the programming expert when problems arise.
Make sure datasets and outputs for clinical study reports (CSRs), regulatory submissions and interactions, safety reports, publications, post-marketing work and exploratory analyses (when required) are built and validated on time and to high quality within your assigned studies or programs.
Understand Git-based version control workflows and how they support collaborative, traceable and reproducible programming.
Own quality control and inspection readiness for all assigned deliverables, and the accuracy and reliability of analysis results. Set clear expectations and frameworks for reproducibility, documentation and code quality across complex workflows, and lead updates to templates, standards and governance.
Keep advanced knowledge of languages such as R and SAS, and of requirements such as CDISC, eCTD and Define.xml. Act as the expert for advanced analysis, reporting, automation and enterprise-scale workflow improvement, and promote reusable solutions and modern methods across studies or programs.
Requirements
Hold a BS or MS in statistics, computer science, mathematics, data science, life science, or an equivalent relevant field.
Have extensive, deep experience with statistical programming languages such as R, SAS or Python, and use them to standardise work across studies or programs.
Be able to apply R packages such as Tidyverse, R Shiny applications, AI-enabled tools and similar tools to data visualisation, Git-based version control and reproducible workflows.
Have advanced experience contributing to statistical analysis plans and/or writing technical programming specifications.
Have advanced knowledge of industry standards, including CDISC data structures, and a solid understanding of building and using standard programs.
Understand the regulatory requirements relevant to statistical programming, such as GCP and study procedures.
Communicate and negotiate well, work effectively with people across the globe, and influence others.
Have experience as trial, lead or program programmer on several studies or project-level work, including coordinating internal or external programmers, and pass your knowledge on to others.
Relevant areas: Clinical Trials, Computer Data Storage, Computer Programming, Data Analysis, Data Structures, Programming Languages, Statistical Analysis.
