Description

AI coding is the biggest enterprise AI use case right now, as shown by Anthropic's success with Claude Code, Cursor's $60B exit to SpaceX, and Cognition's $48B valuation.

The main problem has moved from producing code to securing it. AI agents write code faster than any team can review, and over 65% of the lines they produce are insecure. Vulnerabilities build up 16x faster than companies can fix them, and attackers exploit them within hours.

The company's product sits inside the environment where coding agents operate, connecting through hooks, skills and MCP. Controls live outside the model, so every agent action can be seen. It runs on a patented code context graph that maps code, open source, containers and infrastructure. It identifies which vulnerabilities can really be reached and exploited, and produces fixes that will not break the application. Security teams get evidence rather than noise, and developers get fixes rather than tickets.

Customers include OpenAI, SpaceX, DoorDash, Dropbox, Atlassian, MongoDB, Snowflake, Robinhood and Peloton.

The founder and CEO, Varun Badhwar, is building his third company. He previously built Prisma Cloud, which grew from $0 to $300M ARR at Palo Alto Networks. The company has raised $163M from Lightspeed, Coatue, DFJ Growth, Salesforce Ventures and Dell Technologies Capital.

Responsibilities

  • Own day 0 and day 2 operations for MongoDB and BigQuery, from initial cluster and dataset design and provisioning through monitoring, performance tuning, access management and incident response.
  • Design and carry out sharding strategies for the largest collections, covering shard key selection, zone-based placement and chunk rebalancing, so the platform scales well beyond its current size without a painful re-architecture.
  • Add metrics, logging and tracing across the infrastructure, including MongoDB and BigQuery, so the team can spot problems before they become incidents.
  • Design, deploy and run infrastructure on Azure and Google Cloud that processes billions of security events each day.
  • Run resilient, self-healing infrastructure with Kubernetes and ArgoCD, and help design multi-tenant clusters that keep customer workloads isolated.
  • Build and maintain Terraform and OpenTofu modules that let the team provision infrastructure safely and consistently through GitOps.
  • Work with Security, Backend and Product Engineering so the data layer keeps pace with the rest of the product.
  • Ship infrastructure improvements every week while balancing speed against reliability as the platform grows.

Requirements

  • 4+ years running MongoDB in production, including MongoDB Atlas, covering sharding, replica set design, index strategy, and backup and restore across the full lifecycle from setup to long-term health at scale.
  • Experience redesigning a shard key, rebalancing chunks or re-architecting zone placement on a cluster that outgrew its original design, and understanding the tradeoffs of each option.
  • 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering or Platform Engineering, including building and operating production infrastructure, being on call, and resolving critical incidents.
  • Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes and the CNCF ecosystem, including debugging multi-cluster networking problems.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider: Azure, Google Cloud or AWS, in that order of preference.
  • Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform, OpenTofu or Terragrunt, including reusable modules and state management at scale.
  • Hands-on work with Prometheus and Grafana, including designing SLIs/SLOs and dashboards that help teams run distributed systems.
  • Ability to explain complex technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences, and to document decisions so others can build on them.
  • Stand out: Experience with Atlas-specific features such as Atlas Search, Provisioned Throughput and the Atlas Admin API, or building custom tooling that fills gaps in a platform's native monitoring.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with managing infrastructure for large monorepos, including build optimization and caching, and ideally Bazel, Nx or similar tools.
  • Stand out: Hands-on experience implementing GitOps workflows with ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Stand out: Experience building secure infrastructure that meets compliance requirements such as SOC 2 and GDPR without slowing developers down.
  • Stand out: A record of optimizing infrastructure cost and performance.
  • Stand out: Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with Bazel for monorepo builds.
