Description

You have solid hands-on experience with networks, Linux and virtualization and want to move into an IT architect role.

In this role you design infrastructure, make the technical decisions and document them in HLD and LLD form, while staying close to the hands-on technology.

You get a technical challenge along with exposure to the projects of the company's clients, and you share knowledge with a group of experienced engineers.

Training, certifications and real architecture ownership from the first day support the move into the role.

The company is a French group founded in 1989, with offices in Europe and North America. It focuses on business transformation, combining knowledge of business processes with digital technology.

The group works on industrial projects, supply chain, embedded systems, software applications, AI and data for clients in energy, transport, space, banking, health and other sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Define the target architecture for networks, systems and security, turning business needs into solutions that are resilient, scalable and secure.
  • Write and maintain HLD and LLD documents, network diagrams, IP plans and architecture decision records.
  • Design L2 and L3 networks, including routing and switching, VLANs, segmentation, high availability and links between sites.
  • Define the security architecture, including firewall policies, VPNs, access control and segmentation, in coordination with the security team.
  • Design and develop virtualization and Linux (Red Hat / RHEL) platforms, and evaluate new options such as containers and cloud-native solutions.
  • Serve as the technical reference for engineering and operations teams, guide implementation and help resolve complex faults.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to compare options, estimate effort and present technical recommendations.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years as a network engineer, systems engineer or system administrator, with growing responsibility for design decisions.
  • You have strong L2 and L3 skills in TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, subnetting, NAT and DNS/DHCP.
  • You have a proven record of writing HLD and LLD documentation with clear diagrams and specifications.
  • You have hands-on experience with firewalls and VPNs from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet or Palo Alto.
  • You have good working knowledge of Linux, ideally Red Hat.
  • You have experience with at least one virtualization platform.
  • You understand security principles such as segmentation, access control and hardening.
  • Experience with Active Directory, LDAP and SSO/MFA is useful.
  • Experience with SD-WAN, NAC and load balancers is useful.
  • Experience automating with Ansible, Python or Bash is useful.
  • Experience with containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift and cloud environments is useful.
  • Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, NSE, PCNSE, RHCSA/RHCE or VCP are useful.
  • You solve problems well, communicate clearly, stay goal-oriented and self-driven, take initiative and work well in a team.
  • You speak Italian fluently.
  • You speak English fluently, both orally and in writing.

Benefits

  • You can build a career path that fits your goals, with varied missions in your field and links to other technical areas.
  • You learn from the quality of the projects you work on and from the wide training catalog offered by the company's internal Academy.
  • You get a social package that covers a range of needs, including a telework agreement, childcare places, social coverage, flexibility and soft mobility options.
  • You can contribute to R&D topics or take part in internal projects.
  • You join a friendly team.
