Senior .NET Software Engineer

Description

The company is a public sector IT firm that handles complex projects, including systems integration, analytics, solution implementation and program management, and the team works on digital and information systems across software, data, security, cloud and mobile.

The role leads design and build of a.NET system, and the work includes support duties for production systems.

The company was acquired by Accenture in July 2024.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the system and lead the development teams doing it.
• Turn requirements into designs and propose technical solutions to business needs and technical problems.
• Tune the software for performance, security and quality.
• Set software development standards and write the technical documentation, including records of developments.
• Estimate the effort and time that development will take and collect and interpret software metrics.
• Build prototypes, test solutions and create the tools used for testing.
• Take part in requirements analysis, testing, quality assurance, change management and deployment.
• Manage configuration and releases.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support.

Requirements

• Mandatory: a bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant IT work experience.
• Mandatory: English at a minimum of B2 level.
• Mandatory: at least 3 years of project experience in a relevant profile or similar position.
• Mandatory: at least one certification, such as an advanced level certificate in software development technology, or an internationally recognised equivalent that the Contracting Authority accepts as valid.
• You have taken a solution through its full lifecycle at least once.
• You are an expert in building enterprise software systems in your chosen technology domain.
• You can design applications in UML.
• You can design and build the data layer, business logic layer and UI layer.
• You have worked in Scrum teams.
• You can lead technical teams.
• You can document technical solutions clearly.
• You solve problems effectively.
• You have built and supported enterprise web applications on.NET (Core / 8) using C#, Entity Framework and SQL Server, and React/TypeScript single-page applications, including build and deployment through Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• You have deployed and run applications on Windows/IIS and on container or virtualised platforms (Nutanix / OpenShift), and used background-job frameworks such as Hangfire.
• You have worked with ASP.NET Core Data Protection and certificate management, and fixed issues found by Checkmarx security scans and penetration tests.
• You have integrated applications with SAML 2.0 and Entra ID, PDF and image-processing libraries, and document-management interfaces.
• You have taken over a codebase from an external contractor, covering code review, technical debt and third-line support.
• You have supported production systems in a large organisation, including releases through a Change Advisory Board, UAT support and incident analysis.
• You are ready to work alongside a third-party development contractor during its third-level support period.
