Description

The company makes a DevSecOps orchestration platform. It reports more than 50 million registered users, and more than 50% of Fortune 100 companies use it. Fortune 100 here means the top 20% of companies ranked on the 2025 Fortune 500 list, published June 2025. Fortune 500 is a trademark of Fortune Media IP Limited, used under license, and Fortune is not affiliated with the company.

Team members are expected to use AI in their daily work to raise efficiency, innovation, and impact. The company values continuous knowledge sharing and a high-performance culture.

You will lead Product Data Science, a team of 6 Data Scientists in the data organization that reports to the Director of Data Science. You have two goals: set the analytical agenda for your product areas so the team's work changes decisions, and build the merged Data Science function by defining excellence for a Data Scientist who combines analytics and data science, then growing the team to that standard.

You lead mainly through others but stay hands-on when it counts, such as reviewing a model, pressure-testing an analysis, or writing a query yourself.

The function brings Data Science and Analytics together. Team members are business partners first, combining product judgment with skill in SQL, Python, statistics, and machine learning. They help Product and Engineering decide what to build, measure what worked, and understand how customers get value.

AI is growing the company's consumption business and creating new uses for data. As AI takes over routine reporting, the team concentrates on experimentation, causal inference, production models, and recommendations that leaders act on.

Responsibilities

  • Own the long-range vision and roadmap for Product Data Science, and connect team goals to company strategy.
  • Set priorities and make trade-offs across product areas, adjusting the team as priorities shift.
  • Be the go-to partner for Product and Engineering leaders on complex and urgent questions, choosing between a deep dive, an experiment, or a production model.
  • Flag risks and resource gaps early, and give senior leaders clear options so they can decide on time.
  • Hire, coach, and retain a high-performing team, including career paths, acting on team feedback, and making hard talent decisions when needed.
  • Build a high-trust culture of urgency and accountability, with open communication, a predictable progress cadence, and high-quality results delivered on time.
  • Set standards for experimentation, causal inference, metric definition, and production modeling.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in data science, product analytics, or a related field, including 3+ years managing data science or analytics teams in B2B SaaS or tech.
  • Strong product sense and a record as a trusted partner to Product and Engineering leaders.
  • Exceptional communicator who makes complex problems and findings clear to any audience, from Product leaders to executives, and teaches others to do the same.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: you structure undefined problems, gather the right information, and make sound decisions on high-risk, cross-team issues.
  • Willing to challenge: you offer dissenting views, ask tough questions, and encourage inclusive debate.
  • Deep expertise in statistics and experimentation, with hands-on use of quasi-experimental methods such as difference-in-differences, synthetic control, and propensity score matching.
  • Expert SQL (Snowflake preferred), strong Python, and experience taking ML models to production.
  • Fluent with AI tools, with good judgment on when their output can be trusted.
  • Able to use the company's product, work well in an all-remote, asynchronous setting, model the company's remote working competencies, and work in line with its values.
  • Experience with developer tools, DevSecOps, or product-led growth products.
  • Experience measuring the adoption and quality of AI-powered product features.
  • Thought leadership in data science or analytics, both inside and outside the company.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field.
