Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer

You will join the GN&T Network Security team as an Engineer IV in the Network Access organization.

The role centers on Jumphosts, a function newly created within Network Security. Engineers at several levels will share responsibility for it.

The Infrastructure Access Engineering group will design, build and run a new platform owned by Network Security. It gives network teams central entry points for reaching their devices.

The function serves other network teams by providing central mechanisms that help them apply the Network Security Fundamentals (Access Management, Situational Awareness, Configuration Hardening, Vulnerability Mitigation) at scale.

You will need strong interpersonal and technical skills, and you will work across team boundaries to take these functions from concept to design and then to production.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior engineers to turn complicated business needs into functional specifications and practical technical designs.
• Build and maintain a highly available, redundant Jumphost platform so that systems stay reliable and the business keeps running.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert, sharing knowledge within Network Security and with wider business units.
• Deploy, set up and test new hardware and software, integrating them securely into the existing infrastructure.
• Monitor performance against suitable KPIs, managing platform capacity and addressing scalability and resiliency needs before they become problems.
• The role can be based in any US hub location of the company.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience, which can come from work, military service, specialized training or a mix of these.
• Solid command of how networks and their security work.
• Hands-on technical experience in security, IT or networking roles.
• Working command of Linux environments.
• Experience planning, building and operating network security solutions.
• Demonstrated leadership and business sense in a large organization.
• Experience building relationships across business units.
• Even better: strong networking and cybersecurity knowledge and experience.
• Even better: hands-on work with virtualization and cloud infrastructure, specifically VMware and OpenStack.
• Even better: experience designing or running containerized environments on Kubernetes.
• Even better: proficiency with Splunk and modern SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools for threat detection and situational awareness.
• Even better: a proven record of managing complex processes, getting results and adapting to change.

Conditions

Your work location is defined as a hybrid arrangement combining work from home with assigned office days at one of the listed offices for the role.

To apply, you must live within commuting distance of one of those offices.

Hybrid work means working from home and at least 3 days a week in the office, with those days set by your manager.

You are responsible for following hybrid work policies.

Scheduled hours are 40 per week.

• Full-time annual salary range for the listed locations: $101,000.00 - $194,000.00.
