Senior Full Stack Engineer - Campaign Engine (all genders)

Description

The Campaign Engine is a brand-new product that lets retail media partners run their own campaigns using the company's Missions and Coupons loyalty frameworks.

Partners use it to win new customers and increase engagement among the company's existing customer base.

The company is moving to specialized product teams, so this team works largely on its own on a greenfield-style build within an established ecosystem.

The company builds its own shopping technology, and technology and data drive its product, strategy and growth. Its commerce infrastructure product serves over 350 brands worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Build features across the stack, from PHP/Laravel APIs to React UI components.
• Design features and build background jobs, REST endpoints and MySQL migrations.
• Handle precise logic for CPC bidding, ad budgets and campaign eligibility.
• Keep frontend and backend in sync through strictly typed API contracts in OpenAPI or TypeSpec.
• Own production stability: write automated tests, manage AWS ECS deployments, and respond to Datadog and Sentry alerts.
• Apply strict rigor to billing and budget flows while iterating quickly on experimental UI work.
• Review full-stack code, tune queries, and use AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code in your daily work.
• Work with Product to break features down, estimate effort, and ship in short agile iterations.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and scaling production web applications. A computer science degree or equivalent hands-on experience is accepted.
• Strong backend skills in PHP 8 and Laravel, covering RESTful APIs, background queues, input validation, and MySQL schema design and query tuning for performance.
• Solid TypeScript and React (or Vue) skills, including managing server state and working with typed API clients.
• Contract-first API design with OpenAPI or TypeSpec, plus a habit of writing full-stack automated tests with PHPUnit, Vitest and Playwright.
• Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Redis, Datadog or Sentry monitoring, and modern AI coding assistants such as Cursor and Claude Code.
• You take full ownership of features, from early ideas through to a healthy production system.
• You favor iterative value over over-engineering and stay effective when scope changes.
• You explain technical trade-offs clearly to product teams and enjoy sharing knowledge in peer code reviews.
• Ad-tech, marketplace, bidding or budgeting, or eCommerce domain experience.
• Experience with React.
• Experience with Laravel, including Eloquent and Horizon.
• Experience with Ant Design or a similar enterprise component library, MobX or similar state management, and styled-components.
• Experience with static analysis and automation tools (PHPStan or Larastan, Rector, ESLint) and Nx monorepos.
• You have worked with OpenSearch and BigQuery.
