Senior Full stack Application Developer - Assistant Vice President

Description

This is an intermediate-level Senior Full Stack Application Developer role in the Technology team's Applications Development job family. You will help set up and put in place new or updated application systems and programs, and contribute to systems analysis and programming work.

The role is full time, based in Tampa, Florida, United States.

Responsibilities

• Carry out feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, technology risk work, and application and model development to build new or changed systems that meet specific business or user needs.
• Oversee each stage of development, from analysis and design through build, testing and rollout, and give business users support on applications, including day-to-day operations.
• Apply deep applications development expertise to complex problems, assess business processes, system processes and industry standards, and make sound evaluative judgements.
• Propose and build security controls, and review systems after launch to confirm they work as designed and are used as intended.
• Work with users, clients and other technology groups to resolve issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and support customer-facing systems.
• Make sure core procedures are followed, and help define operating standards and processes.
• Coach and advise mid-level developers and analysts, and assign work where needed.
• Act as subject matter expert for senior stakeholders and other team members.
• Work with limited direct supervision and use independent judgement.
• Assess risk when making business decisions, keeping the company's reputation and its clients and assets protected, complying with laws, rules, regulations and internal policy, using ethical judgement, and raising and reporting control issues openly.

Requirements

• Five to eight years of relevant experience in applications development or systems analysis.
• Deep experience with functional Java, Spring Boot libraries and Java reactive programming.
• Recommended: experience managing and delivering projects successfully.
• Recommended: subject matter expertise in at least one area of applications development.
• Recommended: ability to change priorities quickly as circumstances shift.
• Recommended: proven leadership and project management skills.
• Recommended: clear, concise written and verbal communication at all times.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of Java, Kafka, MongoDB, Spring WebFlux, reactive frameworks, Kubernetes, Docker and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with TDD and BDD style development, and with microservices design and development.
• Ability to communicate well, work collaboratively, mentor and coach others, collaborate across teams, and keep learning and adapting.
• Cloud technology certification.
• Experience with load balancing, caching, database optimisation, and parallel processing and concurrency.
• Java certification is an added advantage.

Conditions

Full-time position.

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States.

Base salary range: $96,960.00 to $145,440.00.

Eligible employees may also receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
