Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Description

The company sells a platform used by large enterprises, and this role sits between customers and the engineering team to get that platform deployed, integrated and grown inside complex environments.

The work is hands-on and customer-facing. You will focus on deployment success and expansion, designing integrations and fixing performance problems, and you will sometimes build small features or prototypes.

The company protects more than 100,000 organizations from cyber and AI-driven threats across hybrid networks, cloud environments, digital workspaces and AI systems, using a prevention-first approach.

You will work with a small number of high-value, high-touch accounts and be a steady technical presence for them from onboarding through expansion.

You will work alongside Sales Engineers, Product and Core Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical outcome for a few high-value customers, from first onboarding through to growth in their usage.
• Deploy the platform on-prem, in VPCs and in hybrid setups, keeping performance, scale and security in check.
• Design and build integrations across APIs, data pipelines and authentication systems.
• Partner with customer engineers to streamline workflows, track down production bugs and tune system performance.
• Build custom connectors, adapters or lightweight features that remove blockers to adoption.
• Work with Sales Engineers, Product and Core Engineering so customers go live cleanly and expand their use.
• Bring field findings back internally and turn customer needs into roadmap input.
• Travel 10, 20% of the time for deployments, workshops and customer meetings.

Requirements

• Have a proven track record of building or deploying deeply technical products in large enterprises.
• Hold a degree in Computer Science or have equivalent experience.
• Have hands-on experience as a software engineer, solutions engineer or forward deployed engineer.
• Be skilled with APIs, cloud and distributed systems, and comfortable designing and implementing integrations.
• Speak confidently with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Do well in fast-changing, ambiguous settings where results count more than process.
• Show the maturity to represent the company to some of the world's largest enterprises.
• Be curious about AI, security and enterprise systems.
• Learn quickly and deliver under pressure.

Conditions

Travel is occasional, at 10, 20% of your time.

Hybrid, on-prem and VPC deployment work is part of the role.
