Senior Field Applications Engineer - Analog & Power

Description

This is a hybrid Senior Field Applications Engineer role focused on Analog and Power products for automotive customers in the Americas. You will help drive design-in across all sales channels, in line with the business development plans agreed with management.

You will also help define the next generation of automotive products, working with customer engineering teams and with the company's application engineering and marketing groups.

Responsibilities

• Drive design-in of automotive Analog and Power products in the Americas.
• Work with customers and internal technical marketing and applications teams to define new products.
• Serve as the technical contact and advise customers through the development of all automotive applications.
• Identify customer needs and market trends, then build system value propositions with internal Marketing, Application and System Engineering teams.
• Manage projects with Sales and Marketing to hit design-in targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customer engineering departments.
• Run measurements in the lab for live customer projects.
• Support distribution partners at FAE training sessions and end customer seminars.
• Grow future business for all company products across every sales channel.
• Balance technical work against commercial priorities and keep profitability in view.

Requirements

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of related work experience, or an MSEE plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in automotive applications is a plus.
• Experience working as a Field or Applications Engineer.
• Working knowledge of analog and power semiconductors in automotive applications.
• Hands-on design experience with automotive ECUs, analog and power electronics, and similar systems.
• Hands-on design experience with ECUs, xEV systems, power modules and telematics systems.
• Proven ability to set priorities and manage several tasks at once, combining strong technical skills with relationship building and account management.
• Strong interpersonal skills, since customer contact is a major part of the role. You should be personable and able to build rapport and trust with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to read technical documents such as user manuals and datasheets with full understanding.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and strong English.
