Description

The company is growing its dedicated Real World Evidence (RWE) FSP team, and this role works fully within a large pharmaceutical company's environment.

You will sit in the Real World Solutions team as a senior epidemiological programmer, working on observational studies in virology under one client portfolio.

The role calls for demonstrated experience with observational research using EMR and claims data, strong statistical programming, hands-on knowledge of epidemiological study design, cohort building and RWE outcome measures, and experience running several studies and complex analyses at once.

You will have access to real-world databases and will serve as the keeper of the client's standards, best practices and methods for using real-world data (RWD).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the build of analysis datasets, processing raw data and checking and cleaning secondary sources such as claims, EHR and lab data (for example Optum, HealthVerity, TriNetX and the company PharMetrics Plus).
  • Lead feasibility assessments of real-world data sources to describe patient populations, build cohorts, and define and validate key variables for the study objectives.
  • Run and QC analyses, including identifying diagnosis and treatment codes and applying statistical methods for censored data, confounding, differing person-time and missing data.
  • Work with epidemiologists on study design and methods, and write specifications for descriptive and complex statistics such as longitudinal, survival and regression models and propensity score methods for virology questions using RWD.
  • Build and QC TFLs for protocols, reports and manuscripts based on RWD such as claims and EHR.
  • Help prepare study documents including protocols, statistical analysis plans and study reports.
  • Share timelines, progress updates and results with the project team and key stakeholders.
  • Give technical, programming, statistical and epidemiological guidance, and bring independent solutions to the team for complex studies.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research or a related field with 5-8 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • A strong record of analysing RWD from EMR and claims data.
  • Proven skill in advanced statistical programming with SAS and/or R, macros and SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience and applied skill in RWE study design, terminology, cohort building and analytic methods.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical or CRO settings.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise several tasks and projects at once.

Conditions

Full-time or part-time schedule, with base pay between $88,300.00 and $220,900.00 annualised; the offer may vary by qualifications, skills, education, experience, location and schedule.

Applicants must be truthful and complete in all application materials; any false statements or material omissions will lead to disqualification or later termination where the law allows.

The company is an equal opportunity employer.

Benefits

  • Incentive plans, bonuses and other forms of compensation may be offered depending on the position, along with a range of health and welfare benefits and other benefits.
