Who Are Massive Rocket?

Massive Rocket is a rapidly scaling Braze and Snowflake agency on a mission to transform how digital marketing, product, and engineering teams connect. In just five years, we’ve grown at speed and are now gearing up for our next big milestone: hitting $100M in revenue. We build human experiences at scale, powered by cutting‑edge web, mobile, cloud, data, and AI technologies. If you’re excited by innovation, love solving complex challenges, and want to help shape the future of digital experiences, you’ll feel right at home here.

Every role at Massive Rocket is entrepreneurial. The people who thrive here don’t just focus on their own remit — they understand the goals of the teams around them and actively contribute to the success of their colleagues, customers, and partners. We’re building a culture of ownership, collaboration, and growth, and we’re looking for people who want to make a real impact.

Who Are We Looking to Add to Our Team?

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Data Architect to turn complex client requirements into scalable data solutions for global brands. You’ll lead technical discovery, design end-to-end data architectures, and build roadmaps that connect customer data, identity, and marketing technology to measurable business outcomes.

Working closely with client stakeholders and our Data Engineering teams, you’ll provide technical direction, guide architecture decisions, and ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

What Will You Do?

Lead client discovery workshops to assess existing data platforms, identity frameworks, integrations, and business requirements.

Align marketing, data, engineering, and product stakeholders on scope, priorities, and success measures.

Design end-to-end data architectures integrating Snowflake, Databricks, mParticle, Hightouch, Braze, and wider MarTech platforms.

Define data models, identity resolution, consent, and data quality frameworks across multiple brands and markets.

Plan migrations from marketing, loyalty, and messaging platforms into modern data architectures.

Develop technical roadmaps, estimate delivery effort, define project phases, and secure client sign-off before implementation.

Evaluate data technologies and tools based on business requirements, scalability, performance, and cost.

Guide Data Engineering teams in designing and optimising batch, event-driven, and low-latency data pipelines.

Establish best practices for data validation, monitoring, performance optimisation, and governance.

Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations that demonstrate business value.

Mentor engineers and consultants, lead technical reviews, and drive continuous improvement.

Support client pitches, technical presentations, workshops, and opportunities to expand existing engagements.

What Makes You a Great Fit

8+ years of experience in Data Architecture or Solution Architecture, including at least 5 years in technical leadership.

Deep hands-on expertise in Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms, with Hightouch experience being a plus.

Proven experience integrating cloud data warehouses with MarTech, CRM, customer engagement, and analytics platforms.

Strong understanding of identity resolution, customer profiles, and linking anonymous and known customer activity across multiple data sources.

Extensive experience in data modelling, reverse ETL, pipeline architecture, data integration, and performance optimisation.

Strong SQL and Python skills, with familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.

Experience leading discovery workshops and translating business requirements into robust technical architectures.

Ability to scope and estimate delivery phases, document technical designs, and secure formal client approval.

Experience mentoring engineers or consultants and providing technical direction across multiple projects.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience in an agency or consulting environment, managing multiple client engagements.

Willingness to travel to client locations when required.

Desirable

Certifications in Snowflake, data architecture, CDPs, or relevant MarTech platforms.

Familiarity with Braze, Amplitude, GA4, and marketing automation within composable CDP or warehouse-native architectures.

Understanding of data privacy, security, consent, and regulatory requirements for customer data.

Experience developing technical proposals, delivering client presentations, and leading workshops or training sessions.

A track record of introducing new technologies or architectural improvements that deliver measurable business outcomes.
