Description

The company has spent more than 30 years on computer graphics and accelerated computing and is now rebuilding graphics around AI. As graphics takes on more GPU compute and neural rendering, the team builds the APIs, shading languages, and system software that put these features in developers' hands.

This is a deeply technical leadership role over a team covering console graphics, compute-based graphics, and Slang. You set the team's technical direction and own its delivery across graphics drivers, platform software, and shading language features for current and future GPUs. You work with architects and platform teams across the company, growing engineers while turning new graphics capabilities into production-quality software. The engineering teams are growing quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the engineers on console graphics, compute-based graphics, and Slang.
  • Set the team's technical roadmap and priorities, and answer for its quality and delivery dates.
  • Move graphics APIs and shading languages forward as compute and AI take a bigger part in graphics.
  • Take work through the full production path: hardware enablement, driver development, performance tuning, validation, and release.
  • Partner with GPU architects, platform teams, and console partners to set requirements and solve hard hardware and software integration problems.
  • Build the team through hiring and mentoring, and improve engineering practice, including AI-assisted and agentic development.

Requirements

  • You hold a degree at bachelor level or above in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, or you have equivalent experience.
  • You bring 10+ years in graphics, GPU, or system software engineering, with 4+ years leading engineering teams.
  • You have deep experience with graphics system software, including drivers, runtimes, or graphics API implementations.
  • You understand GPU architecture, graphics and compute pipelines, and how software meets hardware.
  • You write strong C/C++ and have debugged complex systems across software and hardware boundaries.
  • You have a record of growing engineers and leading teams that ship production-quality software.
  • You have hands-on work with agentic development workflows and judge well where they fit system software engineering.
  • You communicate clearly, judge technical matters well, and execute with discipline across team boundaries.
  • Ways to stand out: you have managed technical relationships with console or platform partners and led system software delivery from requirements through integration, validation, and release.
  • Ways to stand out: you have led an open source project, including its technical direction, releases, and work with outside contributors.
  • Ways to stand out: you know Vulkan, Direct3D, OpenGL, or CUDA well, including driver internals and performance optimization.
  • Ways to stand out: you have worked on compute-based graphics pipelines, shader compilers, Slang, or shading language design.
  • Ways to stand out: you have done GPU bring-up, pre-silicon development, or hardware/software co-design.
