The company is building digital customer experiences for millions of shoppers worldwide. Digital Foundation includes E2E Digital Operations, which keeps the online customer journeys stable, resilient and improving.
Evolved Digital Operations (EDO) combines end-to-end operational visibility, proactive monitoring, automation, incident management, service integration, Site Reliability Engineering and close work with product teams. The aim is fewer disruptions, better reliability and faster delivery of customer value.
This is a senior leadership role running the teams that operate and develop the end-to-end digital operations service. You will lead people, set technical direction and drive operational excellence so digital services scale reliably and stay focused on customers.
You will turn business and technology priorities into a clear service roadmap and get several teams working toward shared outcomes. You will balance urgent operational work with long-term technical health, security, compliance, cost and resilience, and work with product, engineering, architecture, commercial teams, service management and external partners.
Responsibilities
Lead EDO as one integrated service covering three teams: Delivery Excellence, Site Reliability Engineering and Governance.
Own the end-to-end roadmap and technical delivery for EDO, linking company priorities to measurable outcomes.
Set direction across teams and keep priorities, dependencies, risks and trade-offs visible and managed.
Balance delivery speed with stability, resilience, security, compliance, technical health and scalability.
Create a clear maturity path that makes the service more efficient, capable and operationally strong.
Ensure teams have the skills, capacity, tools and ways of working to deliver and run the service.
Own run performance and continuous improvement for EDO, using service, reliability and engineering data to guide decisions.
Lead an integrated operating model across 24/7 operations, service integration, SRE, governance and product teams.
Strengthen end-to-end observability across customer journeys, covering monitoring, alert quality, incident detection, escalation and decision support.
Improve incident, problem, change, event and knowledge management, keeping processes practical, lean and aligned with global standards.
Drive proactive, preventive operations through automation, AI-enabled capabilities, problem management and less recurring operational work.
Make new and changed services operationally ready through clear requirements, onboarding, knowledge transfer, runbooks, access, simulations and follow-up.
Convert incident learnings and operational data into lasting gains in reliability, recovery and customer impact.
Set and communicate the technical and operational direction for EDO, aligned with Digital Foundation and enterprise priorities.
Set and enforce engineering standards for architecture, DevOps, CI/CD, observability, security, compliance and technical debt.
Guide technical trade-offs so decisions serve both current operations and the long-term target state.
Stay technical enough to challenge and coach engineering leaders and specialists without becoming a bottleneck for team decisions.
Define clear interfaces between EDO and product teams so accountability, escalation and expectations are easy to follow.
Lead, coach and develop Engineering Managers, senior engineers and other leaders in the scope, in line with H&M values and leadership expectations.
Build an inclusive, high-performing culture where people collaborate, share accountability and keep customer impact in view.
Clarify roles, decision rights and accountability boundaries to reduce overlap and speed up execution.
Lead workforce and competence planning, including recruitment, development, succession and sustainable workload.
Encourage ongoing improvement of ways of working, technical capability and operational maturity.
Act as the senior EDO contact in enterprise planning, prioritisation and operational forums.
Build partnerships across Digital Foundation, other product areas, business stakeholders and support functions to solve cross-service problems and improve the customer journey.
Report clearly on outcomes, service performance, progress, risks, dependencies and investment needs.
Be accountable for relevant technology costs, including budget, actuals and forecast, while improving cost efficiency and total cost of ownership.
