Senior Embedded Engineer - Protocol Development

The role is product-focused: designing, building and testing embedded software for the Bluetooth stack, which supports the company's competitive position in the IC market.

The work follows the BTIP project vision and roadmap and is done with the software architects.

Responsibilities

• Write, test and document embedded software.
• Own the quality of the software you deliver.
• Plan your own tasks, take part in software planning and report progress to the project leader.
• Mentor and coach more junior team members and supervise their technical tasks.
• Carry the views of the teams and stakeholders into the system architecture.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree with about 6 years of deep experience in embedded software, or an academic degree with 4 years of experience.
• Full competence in software engineering, covering both coding and testing.
• Skill in setting priorities, goals and deadlines for yourself and others.
• Knowledge of both software and hardware systems.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Experience with software development methods such as Agile and software testing, and with source control tools such as Git and SVN.
• Proficiency in C and experience building software for deeply embedded platforms.
• Ability to verify and test deliverables against specifications and requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills to win people over with technical arguments, and the assertiveness to raise concerns with managers or colleagues.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills, along with familiarity with embedded debugging tools and experience programming under tight resource limits.
• Nice to have: proven experience developing a Bluetooth stack.
• Nice to have: software development for ARM Cortex-M processors.
• Nice to have: a multi-disciplinary focus spanning digital hardware and embedded software.
