Description

The company is looking for a customer cybersecurity engineer to help keep power grid control systems secure, reliable and compliant for utility and industrial clients across North America.

You will act as a technical adviser to project teams, helping them handle changing cybersecurity rules, industry standards and client demands, while keeping the company's power quality solutions protected.

Your daily work involves customers, internal security specialists, engineers and colleagues around the world. You will design, build, check and keep improving security controls for advanced control, SCADA, HMI and network systems.

The role is hybrid and based in the Raleigh/Cary, North Carolina area, with regular collaboration across North America and globally.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer cybersecurity and network needs and turn them into secure control system designs.
  • Plan, build, test and roll out security controls inside control system environments.
  • Work with customers, project teams and security experts so that technical solutions meet compliance goals.
  • Carry out security verification and validation in test labs and at customer sites.
  • Support factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning and system integration.
  • Track new cybersecurity standards, security advisories and regulations in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Write technical documentation and help with quality assurance throughout each project.
  • Assess and harden the security of DCS, SCADA, HMI and operational technology networks.
  • Make sure work follows external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, operational technology, electrical engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years working with network infrastructure, OT systems or virtual platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V or cloud services.
  • Hands-on knowledge of VLANs, VPNs, redundancy protocols, PKI, SSL/IPSec, RBAC, AAA and network access controls.
  • Familiarity with Windows, OT security practices, and standards including IEC 62443 and NERC CIP.
  • Experience with tools such as Nessus, CIS-CAT, Nmap, McAfee ePO, IDS, IPS or SIEM platforms.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+ or similar are highly desirable.
