Senior Cloud Software Engineer

The company is a global edge-to-cloud business that helps customers connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications.

This role is in the Engineering function at job level TCP03 and is set at management level.

The cloud developer builds mission-critical applications and looks for new ways to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to customer problems.

You will turn complex data into new ideas, prototype and design cloud solutions, and work with project managers and development partners on delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring and support.

You may lead a project and help less experienced engineers, using your own judgment and consulting others on the best approach.

Responsibilities

• Review feature specifications and decide which coding, testing and integration work is needed.
• Build moderate to complex cloud application modules to specification, following security policies.
• Find, debug and fix code problems, including issues that appear when code joins the application architecture.
• Write and run full test plans that check performance, scale, usability and security.
• Ship cloud systems and application code through CI/CD pipelines that automate management, scaling and deployment.
• Bring new technologies into projects and help drive innovation.
• Analyze data from science, engineering, business and other sources to build solutions for complex application, system administration or network problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a closely related quantitative field.
• Desirable: master's degree.
• Typically 4-7 years of experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Golang or JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, event-driven design, and building for scale and performance.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, developer tools, managed services and next-generation databases.
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Clear written and spoken communication, and the ability to work in an agile way as things change.

Conditions

Hybrid role: on average 2 days per week in a company office.

Base salary in California is USD 143,000 to 290,500 per year, and the actual offer may vary by location, experience, education, training or skill level.

Variable incentives may also be offered on top of base salary.
