Description

This senior lead analyst role in Applications Development Technology sits in the Technology job family and is the Senior Cloud & Risk Platform Engineer position.

The team builds high-throughput, cloud-native distributed systems that support global financial decisions, with a focus on low latency and high performance.

You will lead systems analysis, design and delivery of critical services for Credit Risk and Market Risk platforms, turning quantitative models and risk analytics into scalable, real-time cloud microservices.

You will work on the next-generation cloud stack, building services that are resilient, robust and ultra-low latency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and deploy resilient, event-driven microservices and high-throughput pipelines on modern cloud infrastructure using containers, Kubernetes and microservices.
  • Work with risk quantitative analysts, risk managers and enterprise architects to model, calculate and stream real-time analytics for Credit Risk (PFE, Exposure, Counterparty Risk, Limits) and Market Risk (VaR, Stress Testing, Sensitivity Analysis).
  • Lead the adoption of AI engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude and Devin across the lifecycle, from prototyping and boilerplate to test generation, complex refactoring and AI-assisted code review.
  • Find and resolve architectural bottlenecks in distributed systems, covering multi-threading, concurrency, memory management and enterprise data flows.
  • Set and promote standards for clean code, SOLID principles, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration and telemetry and observability.
  • Advise and coach mid-level engineers and analysts through design reviews, a culture of continuous learning and faster delivery.
  • Assess risk in business and technical decisions, with attention to the company's reputation and to protecting its clients and assets. Drive compliance with laws, rules, regulations and internal policy, apply sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage and report control issues transparently.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, distributed systems development or applications architecture.
  • Deep expertise in Java (17, 21 or later), J2EE, Spring Boot and reactive frameworks, with advanced skills in multi-threading, asynchronous I/O, low-latency processing and memory optimization.
  • Strong working knowledge of Credit Risk and/or Market Risk concepts, such as Counterparty Credit Risk, Stress Testing, Exposure Calculations, Value at Risk (VaR), Sensitivities and Scenarios.
  • Hands-on experience building microservices on cloud platforms, with solid skills in containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and OpenShift.
  • Proven use of AI coding assistants and agentic engineering tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Devin and ChatGPT or LLM APIs, to improve team speed, code quality and automated debugging.
  • Experience with distributed messaging and event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka, Pulsar or RabbitMQ.
  • Strong experience designing robust RESTful APIs and gRPC services, and working with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and distributed caches or NoSQL platforms (Redis, Hazelcast, Cassandra, MongoDB).
  • Proven background with testing frameworks (JUnit 5, Mockito, Cucumber, Testcontainers) and performance benchmarking tools (JMeter, Gatling).
  • Hands-on familiarity with CI/CD automation (Git, Tekton, Harness, Jenkins), static analysis with SonarQube and container security scanning.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and risk concepts clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • A bachelor's degree or university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Financial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: a master's degree.
