Senior Cloud Developer

Description

This is an onsite role, and you are expected to work mainly from a company office.

The company helps organizations connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications, from edge to cloud, so they can turn insights into results quickly.

Cloud developers on this team build from the ground up for mission-critical applications. They look for new ways to deliver end-to-end technical solutions, turn complex data into designs and prototypes, and support the company's Cloud Services portfolio across systems, platforms and applications.

This is a senior, subject matter expert level role. You will use significant independent judgment, and you may lead and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and build of large, complex, scalable cloud subsystems, covering design, analysis, coding, testing and integration.
• Work with project managers and development partners to deliver, deploy, operate, monitor and support cloud engagements.
• Review designs, test plans and code against engineering standards, and give specific feedback that improves quality and lowers risk.
• Solve complex application, infrastructure and data-processing problems with sound, maintainable solutions.
• Apply AI-assisted workflows across design, coding, testing, review, release and support, and keep refining them.
• Speak for the engineering team in technical forums, and mentor and coach less experienced engineers.
• Assess new technologies and approaches that can raise engineering effectiveness, and introduce the ones that fit.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong skills in Python, Java and Go.
• Preferred: experience with other languages, such as Rust.
• Strong grounding in microservices and in building containerized services on Kubernetes.
• A track record of building, deploying and running scalable, stateless REST APIs and web services on Kubernetes, public cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP), or both.
• Solid knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem, including autoscaling, and of infrastructure and application observability.
• Hands-on contribution at every stage of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience designing and integrating polyglot systems across several platforms.
• Strong testing practice: test planning, automation, debugging and tooling.
• Deep working knowledge of Git and the ability to set up and lead effective code review practices.
• A proven record of mentoring engineers and planning and delivering complex cross-team projects.
• Clear written and spoken communication, including presenting architecture and design proposals to senior leaders.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development lifecycle (AI-SDLC) practices and workflows.
• Working knowledge of at least one AI coding assistant or agent environment.
• Experience with agents, sub-agents, and reusable skills or instructions that guide them.
• Initiative to adopt new AI capabilities in daily engineering and product support, and to monitor and analyze those workflows to improve them over time.
• Preferred: deep knowledge of observability principles (metrics, logs, traces) and experience building products in that space.
• Preferred: experience with distributed data pipelines, streaming or time-series systems.
• Preferred: experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD automation.

Conditions

Onsite work, mainly from a company office.

Location: United States. For roles in California, the annual base salary range is USD 160,000 to 325,000.

The offer may differ from that range based on location, experience, education, training or skill level.

Variable incentives may be offered on top of the base salary.
